Dual wield + DLC guns please

Ive done tons of games since launch both at my friends place doing couch co-op as guest and on my own account.

Whats really bothering me is that 95% of the playerbase uses Human weapons such as the AR, DRM or battlerifle, and why not? All other starter weapons sucks.

The Storm rifle and supressor are jokes, i have seriously no idea why these two were made into 2 handed weapon when they get outclassed by the Assault Rifle every single scenario, i have seriously seen 3-4 players using these two in all around 100 games.

Making them dualwieldable so they could be comboed with the handgun/boltshot would be really interesting and it would save this weapon from extinction. It wouldnt be overpowered since you sacrifice the ability to throw grenades.

A second issue i have with the Halo 4 guns is that way too many things were removed from previous games. There’s no SMG, Brute shot, Grenade Launcher, Plasma Cannon, Dualwield removed, Rocket pod turrets, flamethrowers. Vehicles aswell, the hornet was removed, brute “warthog” removed,

I thought as the game progress, we get more guns and variety to score our kills. I was overjoyed whenever i found myself dualwielding an SMG/Plasma rifle combo in Halo 3… now i can’t…

Overall, i feel like i lost more than i gained, the lightrifle/supressor are basically copies of the battlerifle and Assault rifle, they FEEL like the same weapons exept one glows orange when firing.

So please 343, add some DLC with previous weapons, i’m seriously getting burned out by seeing everyone using the same weapons in matchmaking, putting some old guns into the mix would be loads of fun.

play regicide and all you will ever see is suppressors and storms, plus dual wielding was almost useless in halo 3. The smg was only good in a 1 inch radius and then dualed it was even worse, the pistols were fun but took too long to reload, the plasma rifles dualed were meh, and the needlers were OP. I hope new guns and dualing never gets added

Bungie removed John Woo from the Halo equation years ago, we don’t need it back.

The only weapons i really miss from older Halo games are the

Mauler,
UNSC Grenade Launcher
Brute Shot
Brute Rifle.

Thats about it.

I’d love to see those back into the mix of weapons ;D

The suppressor is one of the best, if not the best assault rifle type starting weapon. If you could dual wield it with a pistol or boltshot it would most certainly be overpowered.

They removed dual-wielding from Halo 2 because it ended up being one of the most reviled and unbalanced changes in Halo history. I must say that I played most of Halo 2 with a Plasma Rifle and a Pistol, and I thought it was awesome, but not many others did.

Without dual wielding there is literally no reason to have the SMG, so that’s why it’s not around any more.

Sorry to burst your bubble man, but everyone hated dual wielding and it’s frankly not going to happen.

Actually Storm Rifle and Suppressor beat the Assault Rifle at close range, just saying. I use DMR+Storm Rifle in my loadout, and it’s great at every range. I don’t think Dual wielding needs to be back, and I’m not sure if new weapons can be added with DLC.

I can’t believe the Sentinel Beam wasn’t brought back. Allllllll signs and common sense would indicate that: “hey, we’re on a Forerunner planet, we have no gun equivalent to it, and we see the damn things in campaign” would result in it’s inclusion in the game.

Could’ve made for a unique power weapon for the Forerunner weapons.

Also, completely get rid of the idea that [console] games will add miraculous things with DLCs or even patches. Just learn to accept the fact that the majority of developers suck and do not give the community what it want’s, only what it needs (glitch fixes, weapon balancing)

It would be impossible to implement DLC amour/weapons. For everybody else the DLC armour/weapons wouldn’t show up, leading to a disgusting game

Duel wielding on the other hand, I would love to see in a future patch

The SMG and Plasma Rifle in Halo 3 were the best up-close weapons outside of Maulers, Brute Shots, Shotguns. The SMG beats the Assault rifle 1v1 every time if you know how to use it. Faster rate of fire + a beat down. It was pretty easy to win close encounters. The plasma rifle was even easier. The plasma rifle took only a few shots plus a a beat down to get a kill.

Dual wielding was a skill. Two of the same gun was a terrible choise. SMG + Pistol was a deadly combo. Plasma Pistol + Pistol was a deadly combo, and also the Plasma Rifle and Pistol were a deadly combo. Mauler + SMG were effective and could be used easily up close. A Mauler+Beatdown is still ideal, but dual wielding wasn’t useless. Two Pistols together were deadly. Alternate shots rather than pulling both triggers at the same time. Believe it or not, Halo 3 duals were a skill.

What I miss most from Halo 3 is beatdowns. Beatdowns aren’t sufficient in Halo 4.

I do miss me some Team Duals from H3… played some the other night. It was awesome. SMG + Plasma Rifle = awesome takedowns. :smiley:
