Dropped power weapons should have indicators.

I can’t stress how annoying it is to have a teammate die, drop his power weapon, only for it to despawn just because myself or someone else couldn’t find it or notice our teammate had the weapon. This should be fixed with a simple marker that gives you a notice when your teammate dies with a power weapon and points to where it is. Also weapons should not disappear so quickly because Halo 4 had FAST despawn times. I could die and by the time I get back to where I last was, the power weapon would already be gone.

Also when there are a bunch of diferent weapons stacked up close to each other, have a system that when you press the weapon pickup button it shows all weapon choices to pickup using D-pad to select the weapon you want.

There shouldn’t be indicators att all for weapons. Learn the spawns and how a damn gun looks like ffs.

I disagree, when you kill an enemy that has a power weapon your team should have the advantage in picking up the dropped weapon since you did the work to kill that person.

I do agree about slower despawn times though.

I kneejerked thinking that this was stupid, but then I remembered doing a dance to find the hydra in a dark corner many times on regret, so yeah sure. I think it should not be obvious though, I don’t want to follow some guy around as a support so I can get his gun and then have some random see the indicator and run over and steal it. Maybe just have the gun produce some light, as the prophets bane was always visable on the floor.

Only casuls need waypoints.

While I understand Halo is meant to be able very skilled game that takes work to be good at, do we seriously need to design the game on such a prejudiced mindset?

We’re all on Waypoint right now.

I think that there could be a blue indicator on the radar that points to the nearest power weapon.

Completely agree with you sir.

Any suggestions on banning coaches or timers? Well, enforceable suggestions?

Halo5 has “fixed” the issue with the past few Halo games and their quick disappearing weapons. I am satisified with weapon indicators appearing over all our weapons when within about 5m or so, prompting me “X to pick up,” but nothing universal or too far indicating like the timed spawned locations beyond the existing timed respawn locations.

There shouldnt be any PW indicators at all. If you want the rockets, learn the -Yoinking!- spawn points and times, and figure out where your teammate dropped them, its really not that hard. I swear to god all you kids want the game to hold your hand like mommy did when u were little.

An idea I had is if power weapons despawn every single time they are dropped so betrayals for power weapons are fruitless for the betrayer and teams would have to really coordinate who uses the power weapons if they want to win. Also then a strategy to remove the power weapon could also come in to play so that if your team is lacking a sniper then despawning the sniper so the other team can’t use it could be an advantage. Think about it since overshields, invisibility, and speed boosts are not transferable from player to player, then maybe power weapons should be similar.

You missed the topic completely, I have no issue with memorizing spawn points, but I do have issue with having a teammate drop a weapon then have the weapon somehow be NOWHERE NEAR where he died. What I spend to try to find a weapon that shouldn’t be that hard to find could have been used for helping out a teammate sooner. It is difficult at times to spot weapons laying on the ground when it can be very dark and it doesn’t help when you have to be looking at the weapon directly just to be able to see it and pick it up at all.

Perhaps they should increase the range at which the option to pick up a weapon pops up, or something, if anything.

How frequently do weapons teleport halfway across the map from where they were dropped? I have never had this issue, except maybe when some dude gets shot by a tank and his body and weapons are launched god knows where. This is hardly worth implementing a system that tells everyone where PWs have been dropped, if anything it would get really -Yoinking!- annoying because enemies would know where your teammate dropped shotty, and might get there before you. If your teammate says “rockets on my x” and you cant find them, OH WELL, looks like youll just have to use a primary like everyone else! This thread is so trivial its actually kind of funny.

I would support spartan chatter saying something to the effect of “Rocket launcher on my X” when a teammate dies, but a waypoint is too handholdy.

Well considering weapons fly away now when a grenade goes off yes this is actually more of a problem.

If you’re not going to say something nice, then don’t say anything at all.

OP, I don’t think there should be waypoints or markers for when a power weapon is dropped from yourself or from an enemy. One thing I do want though is an on screen image of when you’re on a weapon on the ground so you know what weapon you’re picking up when you hold X.

This, also if you communicated with your team in the slightest they would let you know they died with a power weapon and where it is.
