I like the idea of the drop wall and how its supposed to function. The problems with it though are like you said. It blocks very little and is really only good for sniping or a very lucky block of a rocket. But when you need it in a pinch it takes too long to deploy. It should be twice as fast at deploying for better use in combat. And it would be nice if it could block a lot more before breaking. I’ve also noticed that it doesn’t last very long. The times it has been useful it really only stays up for about 5 seconds i think. At least 10 seconds would give it enough time to be off better use in my opinion.
You only get 3 at a time, breaks very easily, only a few seconds of use, and takes a long time to deploy. so it’s not very good
Pre-throw it before engaging in a BR fight, allows you to be at least 1 burst ahead of your opponent and significantly increase your chances of winning.
Literally the same thing happened to me just now…like how bad is 343 at designing something like the bubble shield and it being comeplete trash…literally was shooting at a guy who had no shield and he just ran with no damage…like how have yall been trash for 10 straight years…bungie literally did yalls job better in 10 months…

The drop wall is way better than the bubble shield. Maybe if you are a conflict avoider, I could see why you might prefer the bubble shield or armor lock.
It is basically worthless against the AR, but that thing shreds everything.
The deployment speed definitely could be increased.
I just wondered, what is the “health” of each of the squares?
I legit killed an AR spammer at close range when going clearing a corner with the drop wall. It’s useful, but it can use some work and buffing.
Something like the bubble shield was kind of brilliant because it was reactive. You threw it out to mix up the combat loop if somebody got shots on you first or if you needed that extra second to make a good play.
The drop shield only works if you benefit from seeing the future. It’s such a proactive piece of equipment that isn’t super Versatile. I really don’t understand the decision making that went into it’s design.
Not to mention I can never tell what side is the pass through side and which is the defense side. It would really benefit from one side being a different color than the other just for simple player information sake. But idk.

Look downwards when you deploy the Drop Wall OP.
It will deploy faster since it doesn’t have to arc through the air to deploy properly.
As for the shields? Yeah it needs a buff… also a fix. I find that my Needler ammo doesn’t go through it.
I had a good play with the drop wall last night. I’ll try to find the clip as an example how to use it. It will be in theater, so will probably not do a great job of conveying anything of value.
It’s pretty low. I haven’t tested it out heavily but i think about 5 rounds at most from an AR breaks a square. Still leaves 31 rounds left in the mag to either shoot theough the hole or shoot at more of the wall. Honestly it cant take bullets. Though it can stop a sniper round from a .50 but the square that gets hit completely breaks. So against a sniper or explosive it’s somewhat useful. Other than that though it’s like its not even there though it will slow you down trying to deploy it when you can’t shoot while it deploys. The animation of dropping it stops you from shooting until its over
I agree that it needs a buff, but this is the reason why game devs don’t actually look to their players for solutions. Rather than giving the pendulum a nudge to make it swing to the other direction, this solution is about as graceful as smashing a watermelon with a baseball bat.

Oh man armor lock so so much fun but it really was OP lol so most of the community didnt like it because it was so OP. Stuck with a plasma grenade? Save yourself and send it back to its castor with armor lock. Tank gonna roll over you? Use the punch animation to destroy it instantly with armor lock. About to lose a fist fight or be assassinated? Armor lock. It was super good in the right hands. Too good sadly lol
It’s got some tactical uses. It’s just not a bubble shield.
The best thing to do with it is throw it in a doorway when an enemy is about to round a corner, it gives you the first shot for free, or blocks power weapons they might have long enough for you to capitalize.
People try to throw it mid fight to save themselves and that’s not what it’s for

I love the drop wall. Use it all the time. Throw it out and strafe around the damaged panels. Works a treat.
In a Big Team Battle CTF game we used drop shields ( me and 1 other guy ) to add layers of protections for the flag runner to savely get out that worked out pretty well.
We’re able to win the match after over time kicked in thanks to it, since it was enough to clear across the map with the flag safely. We were 0 : 0 before hand.
there was one time on streets in an oddball match i used it to block a rocket other than that its been worthless, I’ve even had it shot out of the air as it was deploying
I’ve been doing this lately too a lot with the stop wall. Use the motion tracker to note when they’re close enough and then toss a sticky at the drop wall for instant detonation:

Well, this is literally a copy/paste of the H3 drop wall which did the job back then and would probably still be relevant today. The devs did not seem to know what they were doing when designing this equipment for multiplayer, the most logical approach at this point would be smaller but more durable shields or at least the ability to stack the current ones we have in the inventory

Halo Infinite is not the same game as Halo 3. Just picking up content from Halo 3 with zero modification and sticking them into Infinite wouldn’t work.
