Is it just me or do you guys think the drop shield takes too long to deploy
theres probably been 5 or so times where im getting shot at so i turn around and deploy it, but im dead before it actually goes up, like it shouldnt be instant obviously but maybe if it took half as long that would be much better

I much rather have the bubble shield then this crap. Yeah you can hold walls but it’s just I don’t know it even looks stupid
It does feel like it takes just a bit too long to actually pop the shield up.
I don’t think its a last second shield rescue like the Halo 3 version. I think its more defensive preparation than anything else. You’re just using it wrong.

I agree. I don’t think it’s suppose to be your second chance. It’s supposed to be a mindful deployment. I could see them reducing the deploy time slightly, but nothing instant or close to. Again, not a get out of jail free card.
I also prefer this to the bubble. The bubble was cheap. This requires thought on how to best utilize it.
Also OP, why turn around and deploy it. Throw it in front of you and just walk through it. You move slower walking backwards.
a slight decrease in that delay would be nice not much but a slight

I actually love that. It could be shortened slightly, but the thing I hated most about Halo 3’s equipment was that it was get out of jail free.
I think there is a standard time for using all equipment such that you don’t get a get out of jail free card. I prefer it stays that way.
If your Sheilds are down you won’t be able to pull off a last second no u. Rather if you play something the enemy can see it coming and react accordingly.

I agree, it’s used more to hold a Defensive Position than to be as a Free Second Wind
I think the issues lies more with the ttk being as low as it is. As for the shield it pretty much needs to be placed in advance for it to be useful as you’ll already be dead by the time it deploys.
Yeah i dont use it as it takes wayyyy to long to deploy i miss the old bubble shield

Drop shield was way too cheese. I hate the feeling of a player getting bailed out of a situation. Halo 3 IMO had terrible equipment balancing issues.

yeah true i agree with that im sure this new shield will be better once u can deploy it faster especially since u can shoot into it and break pieces off it.
I think it is supposed to be more of a defensive tool there is a arm shield equipment also in the game I think that is what is supposed to be more offensive.

I do think it should be a tad bit faster however I like the idea of the delay since it is consistent with the armor buffs.
It’s not meant to be reactive.
True it is i didnt look at it that way but the armor buffs are used so differently compared to that and if u are smart you can use them more tactically right before u go in a battle or whatever. With the shield its like a WELL THAT ESCALATED QUICKLY moment! So u need it down fast and again you can break the shield pretty easily just by shooting into it. Even if the shield couldnt break and just had a timer it wouldnt be crazy cuz u can throw a nade over it u can jump in the air and shoot or whatever so i think the quicker deploy is def a must IMO.
Agreed. Would like to see it pop as soon as it lands. Using it how it functions now, is confusing to me. I don’t want to setup and take a “defensive” position, or precisely plan how I am going to throw the shield down. I like to keep moving
At first it seemed to slow but the speed has grown on me now. It feels way more tactical and strategic when you have to think about where its going and when rather then just tossing it out so it can save you instantly. The slow speed has made me think a lot more about when I want to use it. Maybe they could speed it up by a fraction but now I’d never want it to be instant.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel it’s meant to work more as a Proactive defence, rather than Reactive. Considering each section goes down relatively quickly, AND you can shoot through it from the deployment side, it personally acts as a deploy, prepare, and get the first few hits off, before your opponent gets a chance to even fight back
