Drop out

For some reasons I can play all day and be fine but as soon as I play halo 5 my internet cuts off and back on after a minute. This has been happening for the past 3 days. And its only halo every time I try to play. Is it just me or does this happen to others?

It happens to me all the time, but people on these forums will still try and say it has to do with your connection. Same goes for me, I can play other games fine without a single lagout, but Halo 5? I’m lucky if I can play for 30 minutes without a lag out.

Maybe it’s a regional thing?

if your internet is cutting on and off then its your internet

It has to do with your… wait, no it doesn’t. It’s on the Halo 5 servers, not you. I get these DCs all the time with an open NAT and good connection. It’s just the latency on the halo 5 servers that’s causing DCs.

Not 100% true. Sometimes you’ll just be playing, and all of the sudden you will be kicked back to the main menu with the inevitable “connecting to game lobby” for a few minutes when you try to go back on.

I thought I was the only one. I called my internet provider pissed off last night and they told me that there was no drop in my modem and that my internet was fine.

I did the same thing you did. And my ISP monitored my connection for a month to see if my connection became unstable or my modem would drop signal. Neither happened and they were able to clearly point that out to me with a full report. They even came out to my house and also checked the node I was on to make sure there was no hidden problem with that. But in the end it turns our it was the servers for the game dropping me out.

If you are physically seeing your internet cut out by seeing your modem power cycle or reset when playing the game then it is on your end. If you lag out of a game and you still are connected then more then likely the servers have dropped you… Who is your ISP?

But that’s the weird part. I can play titanfall 2 battlefield any game immediately afterwards and I’ll be able to play 24/7. it’s only when I play halo 5. That’s why I’m confused lol because if it was my internet by itself I could fix it. I cant fix one gaming shutting my internet down besides not playing it

Well if you can play Titanfall2 with out issues then its not on your end. The way I understand it is Titanfall2 uses the same dedicated servers as H5 does. And if that is true then that just leads me to think there is either some coding issues or some sort of corrupt issue that causes this for some and not for others. 343i did launch a maintenance update awhile back to help them figure out the cause of this issue. Make no mistake there is something going on with H5 but the question is what! And the other problem is…is it something they can fix! Halo5 is nothing special and should function like any other game if not better. But what we have now is a game that is very unstable, very inconsistent, and like in your case unable to play! None of which are good… Nor good to grow the Halo population. Basically the only thing we can do is wait and hope 343i can find the cause and fix the issue… 343i is aware of the issue. But being aware and being able to fix the issue is two very different things. Lets see what happens and what they actually do… This is there defining moment as far as im concerned… make or break…
