Drop in drop out muliplayer?

What is this all about? why on earth would any halo game every have this in their game? This just decreases the value of every single multiplayer game in halo. When i was playing halo 3 and reach, i loved to check out how high of a level the other team was. It was almost like bowing down before a fight, shaking hands before a poker game. If this is for real, you might not be getting the future sales you were wanting. And also the spawning, I strongly believe that you should have a time limit before you can respawn. We don’t want halo to become more and more like Call of Duty, We. Want. Halo. I grew up with Halo, this is a part of my life. Dont ruin it but just messing with the games mechanics. Think… What would Bungie do?

Ever play 2v8 in BTB? We need it.

And besides, its not in all playlists.

What? They’d probably keep armor lock in. Especially since they think Reach was the best Halo.

Edit: Welcome to the forums, Sucka.

I’m sure you love to play games where all of your team mates quit, I know I do.

Match players according to skill and dont allow guests in most playlists.

That will reduce 2v8 games by half at least. Guarantee it.

They did it to prevent 1 vs the whole entire enemy team. I like this idea and now it won’t matter if people on your team quit anymore cause you will get new players. It will also speed up the time it takes to get into a game.

It Will lessen the value of every single game in the multiplayer, and when people do rage quit games enough. They did of course add a time penalty to those who left to many games. I hope 343 would have the common decency to at least add that.

Mate, I played Halo Reach last night, and at least 70% of the BTB matches ended up being 8 vs 4 or less. I even had a game where the whole enemy team left. Finally, Join in Progress.
The traditional system would, of course, be better IF players all completed each game they were in instead of quitting as soon as the match becomes a challenge. However, this is obviously not the case.

Then it should be more like halo 3 was, the more games you won, the higher your ranking would be, but if you lost a few, or if you quit. Your ranking would decrease. So if you people really care about this, 343 should make Halo 4 MUCH more like Halo 3 was. If you rank was high, and your teams ranks was high. Im doubting that they would rage as often. ( cause obviously care about their rankings)

It’s not just about being like classic halo. Every other multiplayer game has drop in/out with no punishment. Therefore when players come over from other games and play Halo they quit when they start doing badly and ruin matches for the people who play regularly and finish their games. Adding the Halo 3 ranks won’t change that mentality.

At first it’s like what hell hell. But then, when you think about it… It makes sense, it is annoying as hell to be 2v8

^This is pretty much my argument. I like the traditional system, but with quitting a lot. It makes JIP look better.

Have you been living under a rock? This has been known for a while now.

I don’t think this will fix the problem. It won’t go from 2v8 to 8v8. Someone will join when it is 2v8, see that the teams are imbalanced and leave because they will suffer no penalty for it. Games will still remain 2v8 in the end.

This. I had a teammate laser my Wraith in BTB… I guess for the lol’s. A third of my team was doing a -Yoink!- dance off behind some rocks on the far end of the map and then getting killed over and over is about as much fun as a baseball being shot into your crotch.

Now if they did away with the whole public k/d and W/L stats, so it didn’t matter and it was just a battle and not some e-peen contest then maybe it would be less critical for the player’s game history, so inclined that they have to keep their stats padded rather than run the risk of dropping below average and to stay in on a 8vs2 match without any consequence on the old ego.

Really that ship has sailed on the whole sportsman shake of the hands my friends. Nice sentiment though, maybe it’ll show up again in a few generation down the road, but for now I’ll gladly take the option to jump ship to maps I like to play and possible friendlier team mates than staying to just hate humanity for the next few hours after the unpleasant aftermath of your sportsmen hee hawing in the post game lobby.

There still needs to be some penalty for quitting too many games even if it doesn’t effect the game as much being that someone else will just take their spot.

. Adding the Halo 3 ranks won’t change that mentality.

You smoking something, i didn’t say the ranks, i said how they decided who plays with who, a true skill system(like the one in halo 3), so if your a noob who rages a lot, you should play with people like that, but if you a hard core player, you would also play with those types of players, who would be less likely to rage. And yes i truly think there should be a punishment to rage quitting to many times.

If it’s implemented RIGHT it could work GREAT.
All we can is hope for the best.
