Drop Guardians from canon and make another Halo 5

Halo 5 Guardians ruined the Halo Universe.
Maybe 343i should just make a new Halo 5 with a completely different story and put this franchise back on the right track.
It would give them to a chance to create a campaign that isn’t as bad as H5G was.

OP Responses:
Halo 4 had some actual character development, whereas in H5G the characters are one dimensional cliches. The typical Scifi AI goes rouge plot is poorly executed and been done to death everywhere else. Every campaign level felt like being trapped in a series of tunnels in contrast to the typical wide open levels of previous Halo’s.

It’s becoming common for reboots and revisions to do this type of selective continuity. The Alien 5 movie is rumored to dump Alien 3 & Resurrection to pick up after the end of Aliens. The Spider-Man franchise is now going on it’s third version and second reboot. The Superman Returns movie was a direct sequel to the Superman II Richard Donner Cut which didn’t even come out till decades later. The Hulk movies are another fiasco and the Avengers Hulk isn’t likely to do a solo movie because of it. Borderlands Pre-Sequel happened. Bioshock Infinite abandoned Columbia went back to Rapture in it’s DLC. Mass Effect Andromeda is an attempt to slide the horrible ME3 ending under the rug with a complete change of venue as the only way to salvage the franchise. Star Wars ejected the entire Expanded Universe to make more movies. The point is that Halo 5 Guardians story was so bad it warrants a flush down the toilet

I liked the Halo 5 campaign. Needed to be a bit more focused on Blue team… But overall I am looking forward to seeing how it all pans out.

Would you like to make an argument for your assertions, or no?

It’s too late, op. The only thing that will take away the canon is if it’s all some sort of vision that master chief had. Something that didn’t actually happen? It was all a dream? That would honestly make it worse lol.

LMAO holy moly what a genius idea xD (sarcasm)

kid that’s not the way it works  accept it, it is how it is… halo 6 won’t go any different way than h5 4sure! (maybe in terms of character and lore development)

Ha! No. They’re not going to totally remake a game.
I will admit, the story telling was poor. The level design was weak. But it was good enough to make a bridge between 4 and 6.

Leave Waypoint forums for a month…come back and it’s still this -Yoink-? Just stop.

I kinda feel like that already happened, since Halo 5 had enough new plot developments for maybe a third of a game.

The Halo 5 campaign was so bad it doesn’t deserve to be called a “halo game”

I think the telling, in its interactions and dialouge, where pretty good. What was garbage was the story itself and stuff that doesn’t make sense in the universe to begin with and how most of 4 just felt pointless.
Sanghelios and all that for example was really enjoyable, but it felt out of place sometimes. I’d call it a bridge between 4 and 6 too.

It was a good campaign just not as good as others

No. It really was not a good campaign.

Other than being rushed and not enough Master Chief (no complaints there) I don’t see what the fuss is all about…

Halo 5 story was bad, i agree. It’s already made it and we already seen it…they can’t destroy it now. Its part of the universe. Hope they make it better in 6 by carry on the same vibe they had in halo 4.

I made a thread like this last night. I even made cover art for if they remake H5.

But the

Domaintotally doesn’t break the lore of canon Halo.

Surely, you can’t be serious.

No, the storytelling was abysmal as well. Remember when you first set foot on Genesis as Osiris and then out of the blue a monitor appears and asks “Oh, are you here to stop Cortana as well?” and then continues to spit out the entire plot of the game in one huge bulk of exposition, eliminating the entire mystery that was built up within seconds? And then directly afterwards: “Oh, and I just happened to snag a tank from the planet even though I could not possibly know what a tank is and how it looks like.”

That is the most slipshod writing I’ve seen in years, maybe decades. I’d be all in for a retcon.
