I say drop AA’s and bring back equipment, such as grav lift flare trp mine regen and drainer.
Yeah, Equipment was pretty Awesome, especially Power Drain since you could Power Drain Jump Really High. (=
I think 343 should do what they want. They could have decided to implement both for all we know.
> I say drop AA’s and bring back equipment, such as grav lift flare trp mine regen and drainer.
Agreed.
They’re probably going to scrap AA and put in equipment with the exception of sprint (spartan) and evade (Elite, if in game). Maybe they’ll have special ammo to pick up? Nah, but maybe.

the reason halo has been so successful is because bungie actually listiend to our questions, and requests. we want 343 to carry that tradition.

True, but what happens when different parts of the community want different things? Some want equipment, some want refined AAs, some want whole new mechanics instead. Some want nothing at all.
343i has to please as many as they can, but ultimately, all you can do is hope that the group you’re a part of is one they try to give want you want.
Agreed, I think that the AAs were cool, but the equipment was definitly better.
I don’t think it would be a good idea canon-wise to have AA’s. The Trilogy had pick-ups, and while some people, including me, like AA’s I don’t think they’ll be missed, or on the other side of the coin they would be more acceptable as pickups. Since it’s Halo 4 we should expect something, but as far as matchmaking goes I think it’s stated fairly clearly that loadouts are not Halo.

No, they shouldn’t just “do what they want,” they should do what the fans want. These forums are here for a reason.
I think we should have a happy medium. Keep AAs, but do not give us the option to spawn with them in Matchmaking (With the exception of Sprint). Instead, have them used as equipment and powerups, but simply with unlimited uses and a recharge time. The player would drop the equipment when they die which would always ensure that there is some form of use for the Armour Ability.
Essentially what MLG does in Reach, but more widespread.

I didn’t mean ignore the fans entirely, but rather do what they feel is best for the fans in regards to giving them what they want. After all, different fans want different things; and they’re not always compatible. It’s up to 343 in that respect.
This i agree with!
I recently played the HALO Combat Evolved Anniversary and was trying to get the Achievement where you have to escape the MAW with atleast 1:00 left on the clock it took me a very long time to get but eventually i got it and my time was 1:01 if i had sprint i would have got it at 1:08.so yes i hope they introduce Sprint to John in Halo 4 and some new and exciting things!
In any case Halo 4 is now in the very capable hands of 343i and it is entirely up to them! i mean John and Cortana go to a Forerunner planet so my “guess” is they will have to introduce new and exciting gadgets! this being said i know we will see the return of some old aswell i mean the Warthog makes a return no doubt its improved but it still returns so yes i dare say 343i will give us what we want!!
Or do something new that doesn’t include renewable get-away-free cards
How about drop them both
Sprint should be implemented into the game mechanics
The reason halo doesn’t “aim down the sights” is to keep the gameplay fast paced and fair, how else can you increase the pace with Spartans running around. Granted it will be limited but triple the amount the pathetic sprint ability in reach gives us.
Every time I run in reach I feel obese.
- Heavy breathing
- Short distance of sprint
No AA’s or Equipment.
Just guns, grenades, melee and your wits.
Armor Lock will always be on MJOLNIR whether you like it or not. Bungie has been trolling you since 2001 with it.
But if I remember correctly, the technology-based armor abilities that Noble Team used during the invasion of Reach were stated as being prototypes. While its possible that this tech got off of the planet by ONI, NSWC, or ARSOC means is unknown, but it could very well be that it was all abandoned in the frenzy following the Covenant reinforcement. So unless they packed some of this kit away on the Forward Unto Dawn, I highly doubt that we’ll be seeing any of it in campaign.
