There is time to jump in the vehicle and a time to let them do what they are doing.
Warthogs any variant:
If a player is sitting in one spot shooting at an enemy…please leave them be unless they physically need moved. Most cases they are there for a reasonand don’t need to be driven to a place where they will get blown up or can’t shoot anything.
Now if they are sitting in the gunner seat and not doing anything or shooting anything then they mist likely would like to be driven around so they can shoot.
If a player is driving around then I think anyone could jump in the gunner seat, but that is just my thoughts.
Tank/wraith turret
Me personally if someone wants to jump in the turret and be support than go for it. I will do that on occasion to clean up the light work while they focus on the main targets.
Now if your main goal is to just get their kills then you might just get you both killed as there is a chance someone or an AI could destroy it.
If they are doing fine then maybe be support in foot with a power weapon or good loadout, or even another vehicle.
A warthog should always be in motion in my opinion. The problem is bad drivers who drive directly into a kill zone. What you want to do is drive around the outside of a base not go into it to get the most damage out of your warthog. Any player can take out a lone gunner sitting on the turret all alone and its pretty much a waste of a hog.

I suppose the idle hog would mainly refer to firefight when sitting back and shooting AI. Regular Warzone requires more movement to keep from being sniped

Lol the incineration Canon or the light rifles do manage to have insane accuracy.
