I don’t know if this is the first post about this here on the forums, but I think many people might have the same opinion as me. The Scorpion in Halo Infinite is really wired to drive on controller, like you press forward and it goes in reverse, you pull the stick to go reverse and it goes sideways. Another thing I noticed about it is that you can’t go in one direction and fire at another like previous Halo Games (Halo 5, downwards), when you’re driving the Scorpion wherever your crosshair is pointed at is where the body of the scorpion is headed. It feels more like a single control vehicle, or like if your playing Doom 1993 or Wolfenstein 1992, that where you look is where you walk and shoot. The Halo Infinite Scorpion feels the same way you no longer can go straight and look somewhere else to shoot with the Scorpion, instead what it does is some weird opposite directional movement which is not fun.
Aside from this my other little concern is the Chopper, the Chopper in Halo Infinite feels like im riding on a piece of paper, it flips over way too easily and the steering is also a bit weird like the Scorpion’s. The Chopper in Halo 3 feels way more heavier and less prone to flipping when compared to Halo Infinites’s Chopper.
Those are my only two concerns with vehicles in Halo Infinite, if 343i can revert the steering on those two vehicles to the style that previous Halo’s would have then that would be awesome. Hopefully 343i reads this and can make some changes. Is there anyone else that agrees with me or has any other opinion? We’ve been using the Scorpion in a specific way for more than a decade that it feels right and now with this little change I just can’t see myself using the Scorpion whenever I have the chance just because of that small detail that messes up the fun of using said vehicle.
