Dr Halsey's Journal - Have you finished it?

Has anybody finished Dr Halsey’s Personal Journal that come with the Halo Reach LE?

I got bored at home yesterday while i was browsing the Bungie forums and decided to take a proper look at it, its actually pretty interesting. I must say that i thought the journal would be pretty boring but reading the first few pages it doesn’t seem to be that bad.

I feel i will know a lot more about the Halo universe and its secrets, Bungie did a fantastic job on the Journal from what i have read so far.

Has anyone finished the Journal?

Yes i did actually. I was quite interested to know between both community’s about who has finished the Journal.

Finished & re-read :slight_smile:

I raced through reading it too quickly because I am the most impatient person in the world, but then spent more time looking through and thinking about it… I still pick it up to check references when I am in uber halo geek mode…

Is there really that much information inside the Journal?

there’s some good stuff in there, but maybe not as much as you might like.

The journal is very enlightening ; it helps tie in Halo Reach with the Halo Universe. Eric Nylund wrote the journal - not Bungie. Definitely worth reading…

Well I finished the journal. I use it more for if I want to know about a certain subject in halo. Right now I’m doing a sort out of my canon order so I would use the journal when the time comes.

I did, I thought it was a pretty fun read. Nice that it shows a bit of the connection of Keyes’ family.

For the record, as there is no “plot line” to it, there are no spoilers. I’d say discuss away.

I’ve forgotten all about it! I’ll have to finish Halo: The Fall of Reach and then get reading! I haven’t even started the Journal. Thanks for reminding me. xD

Yeah I have. Even though it took me a few days to read it, it was very good.

I was not to sure who wrote it so i just said Bungie, lol.

I will definitely finish reading it, i have been hearing lots of positive feedback, even on the Bungie forums.

I finished Halsey’s journal months ago. It was really interesting. I’m actually reading The Fall of Reach, and after that I’ll give Halsey’s journal another read.

It literally stays on the nightstand by my bed (where else would a journal go?!), and I use it very often for some light Halo-recharge reading. Awesome info, and very well written.

Does this thing explain why the Covenant had visibly trashed Reach since August 23rd yet Keyes was surprised to see them on the 30th?

The journal is great. An excellent addition to the lore.
