Hey everyone,
Question 1: Does anyone know if it is possible to download maps and game variants to a USB? I don’t have an 8GB Hard Drive to use File Share so I need a way to download it to either my USB or my XBL Account. Any ideas?
Question 2: I do have an External 5 TB Hard Drive, does anyone know if I can somehow configure this to act as a Console HD(Hard Drive)? Seems pointless to me to buy a HD for $130 if I can just use an External HD.
Any help would be much appreciated :). And keep in mind I am decently tech-savvy so if it is a very complicated solution please get into as much depth as you need, I’ll be able to understand :).
Cheers!
You should be able to plug in a usb memory stick or external harddrive and use that as an xbox storage device. If you do go down this road please bare in mind two things.
-
If you plan to use your 5TB hard drive for instance, the xbox will only use up to 16gb (I think) of that 5TB, and will not use the whole drive.

Backup ANYTHING that is on your memory stick/external drive onto your PC before you plug it into the xbox and configure it as the xbox will format the drive, I had an instance a while back with a friend who plugged his phone into the xbox and ended up losing all his photos. Luckily I was able to retrieve them.
I have a 32 G flash drive… You can’t use them to download maps. I’ve tried many times.

The three posts before yours were in early January. Your post hasn’t really added to an active discussion, just dug up an old topic.
I think you can view the file share and use the “download to xbox” feature on Waypoint which should download it regardless of your drive size. Don’t take my work for it though, just a theory.
i have a 16 gb flash drive and I cant watch any of my game footage I’m on the xbox 360 for halo 4 and 3 I was curious on what to do to make it work please and thank you for the help
Please don’t revive old topics, thanks.
