Hey Everyone,
This is my first post, so I apologize if this question has been asked a million times over by now.
I have been thoroughly enjoying the recent addition of the custom games browser to the multiplayer of the MCC. Right now I have been relying on people to host some of my favorite maps and have been trying to figure out how to host them myself so I can play when they don’t show up in the browser. I was wondering if there was a way to either download maps from the browsing menu in game or if there is an external website I can go to to download some of my favorite maps. I tried googling a lot of this but it seems to bring me to articles from 2019 or before. Any info would be very much appreciated! Thanks for your time.

If you know of someone who has a variant of a map you want on their file share, you can go into the roster options and select “find a player”. Type the GT in, and then you can pull up their file share and download anything they have on there. There is also the most recently played game variant in custom games. Just click save as and you can get gamemodes that way. If you are in need of something from matchmaking, I can get that for you if you want also and put it on my fileshare.
Feels like this should be more streamlined, Like an actual categorized browser. But that’s probably asking alot though.
Or maybe its integrated into Steam workshop eventually? not sure.

We need a Halo 5 style file browser for the MCC. Got no idea when that’ll be implemented.
If you are looking for mini-game customs I recommend typing “iSpiteful” in the find player option in the roster and “MLG Gametypes” if you want MLG Halo 3 and Reach game types and maps (although most of the MLG Halo 3 game types and maps are there by default except for MLG Guardian FFA which I have in my file share) and if you are looking for MLG Halo 2 and No spread CE game types you can go to my file share (gamer tag is Xtreme Dew #1453).
You can find a good stash of maps here for each game that has forge:

This is the list HaloCustoms put together for Xbox players who can only get maps and modes via fileshare:

When you play something in the Custom Game Browser it may appear in your recently played. You can find that section by going into settings and then the folder icon. Unfortunately I often find that what I just played does not show up there, but most of the time it does.
