Okay, so for the longest time I have had my xbox “downloading” the latest matchmaking data for the longest time (over 2 hours). Any suggestions on what I should do?

Uninstall and reinstall.
The past 3 months I’ve had the same concern… I’ve made myself known with xbox support.
The uninstall/reinstall method works… But it SUCKS!!! Takes me 9 hours each time!
Today, is my fourth time… Not happy about this at all.

So, redownloaded it,worked great… 2 hours later… SAME THING!!! Not cool!!!

so you clearly tried to fix it and the bug came up. it’s defiantly not a problem with the files (because you did get to play) but more of a definite Bug so what are the MCC team doing over at 343i anyways? just like… sitting around?

called xbox support and they keep telling me to come here or “wait for a patch/download to correct the concern”. I just want to play the game… Grrrr

The only things I’ve seen so far are either power cycling, deleting your cache and/or re-installing the game. These all seem like temporary solutions though. Has anyone had any permanent luck with this yet?

Sadly Xbox support is not 343, they don’t know whats going on. And, unless it’s a problem with your xbox itself, they cannot help you. 343 hasn’t even acknowledged there is a problem with their last patch that causes this.

No. no one has. no one frustrated enough to post in the official forums anyways
You won’t like my answer, but it’s the facts.
I’ve had to reinstall every time I get the “downloading latest data” message.
Reason is, it’s actually NOT downloading the latest data, it’s stuck. So, until they release a patch for this fix, the hundreds of us with this concern get to uninstall and reinstall every time there’s an update.
IT SUCKS!!! For some people it takes DAYS to redownload. I’m on my 6th time (last night) redownloading this massive game because of the “downloading latest data” nightmare. Then, as usual… They’ll release an update within a week or two and I’ll have to start the process all over again until they release an update that FIXES this issue.
SOME people have tips and tricks to get it to work… clearing MAC address, hard restart, changing console name, spamming the stuck screen… All good and great if that works for them but I know HUNDREDS of people that NOTHING works but reinstalling. My friend reinstalled his, THREE hours later got the stuck data screen and had to reinstall again (3 hours later there was an update), he’s done… Nuked his game.
Don’t bother calling 1-800-4-my-xbox. I was hung up on 3 times, told to contact 343 myself via forum (hence no good answers here), trouble shooted my network & console till there was nothing else to test. It’s the game, NOT A NETWORK OR CONNECTION. Its sad, but it’s the cold hard truth.
So frustrating after 7+ months after release.
I suggest 343, how they has a record/regist of all the players we must reward for this…

If you left halo:MCC open, turn off your Xbox, turn it back on, and the games still at the menu,( so the app stays suspended) that’s possibly why. This happens to me every time I do that, so I have to close the app before I get off to play matchmaking when I get back.
