edit: actually, as long as you were connected when the Op starts you should be able to play it all the way through, but it wont reflect as to whether the mission was completed if youre not connected, nor will it apply to your service record, challenges, or commendations.

You have to download all the maps and such. You most likely have Season 1 downloaded as well (Downloaded with the multiplayer install).
But yeah, I don’t see why you can’t play offline… So annoying, especially because my router is terrible and likes to shut off wifi at random intervals…

The block on SOPS is arbitrary, it seems to me that most, if not nearly all of H4’s content is locked from offline players

the only full experience you get is the single player, and customs (which is located conveniently behind the Gold membership flag)
It kinda pisses me off that, when I go around H4’s UI, most of it’s features are replaced with static telling me to buy XBL Gold.
