Hello guys! I am Blinx, and last week I got a Xbox One S. I´ve been playing Halo 5 since launch on my Xbox One. I gave it away last week to a friend of mine. As soon as I got my Xbox One S I put all my games to download. All of them did really fast, Killer Instinct, Gears of War 4, Quantum Break, Horizon 3… It was a matter of few hours. I have 200 mb/s line. But Halo 5… nothing, it is going really slow. Three days ago I left home due a business trip, and when I came back I was surprised to see still it is downloading. It has been almost one week now. It has only downloaded a 25% of the total… When I see the speed of downloading, it is really irregular, it can reach 40 mb/s during few minutes and then all of a sudden go to 450 kb/s. It has been like this the whole day. Right now it stops.
I am in Shanghai. If someone please, can give me some advice I would really appreciate.

You can try contacting to ISP as well if it gets to the stage where all downloads are downloading at a slower rate than usual.

What I did was save my Halo 5 files on an external hard drive. I copied them over to my new xbox when it came in. Took maybe 10 minutes. I didn’t want to go through the long download process. If you did not do this then you have no choice but to wait it out and download. But it is worth it.
I have the regular Xbox one (Bought it about 2 years ago.) The game took maybe…13 hours for me to download. I dont exactly know how yours is still downloading, however you have to remember…its a whooping 90 GB. That’s a LOT for a game. No doubt its going to take that long, but if anything, it might be your internet. My recommendation is connecting your Xbox with an ethernet cable, and the direct internet line should make it better.

Contacting Xbox and mentioning Halo typically ends up with Xbox Support redirecting people to Halo Waypoint, unfortunately.

CenturyLink offers 1gb per second up and down Internet speed hit them up!

Weird, I have never contacted them myself, but I wouldn’t expect that to happen. To the OP, sorry if my advice was not useful.

I’ve never contacted them myself either, but I’ve tried to help other members in the past, and they said that Xbox Support directed them to Waypoint.
If it makes you feel better, the download took me forever too. I was sad because I didn’t realize I could open req packs on waypoint so I missed the anniversary pack too.

Yes I am in China. But I am not from here. I am from Spain. I just work and live here.
I feel stupid right now, I could just copy all my files to a HD… I am thinking to take my xbox one s to my office and try with the connection over there. Last two days I have managed to download few gigabits… Now it is 40%. This is nearly insane, the update of Gears of War 4 just lasted like half hour and it was 4,5 gb.

Hi there,
For some reason it seems I needed to change my DNS… Most of people abroad don´t know (even me first time I came to China 5 long years ago, LOL Halo War quote) but in this country there is a huge firewall that sometimes affects gaming, fortunately I was able to play the game zero issues after few months of release. It is just this situation now when downloading the game. Now it is 75%… Hopefully today con do some GB and by next week I can go back to play. I am just afraid my Spartan Company has dropped me :(I am going to check now I am in Notable Gamma)
