One thing i’m not happy with in this game is how progression is handled, Being battlepasses creates no end game content comparing to other titles such as reach (Having just a lengthy progression system) or even modern warfare 2019 (only one i played) which has progression along side a battlepass.
I didn’t put any money into the battlepass apart from buying the base version, I completed all my weekly challenges with double exp and now am disinterested in the game due to lack of incentive. There are no rewards for being good, No reason to excel so i have instead turned to other franchises outside of the halo series.
It’s really disheartening that this is the case, I was looking forward to this game for a while and the surprise early release was exciting to me, keeping me wanting to play for a few months. Now i’m without content for 103 day with events being the only thing to bring me back for a day or two as that’s all it takes to complete.
halo reach did progression amazingly. yeah it did have its flaws, i wont deny that. but in terms of every other halo game with progression; halo reach did it the best
if infinite is going to be f2p, as it already is, then it MUST have an actual progression system.
even though i have what i want in reach (well did) and MCC, i still come back to do the pve weeklies because of the xp. slowly getting that max rank… but in infinite. if the weekly reward isn’t good, i don’t bother. the bp offers nothing. there’s no rank. so i’m better off NOT playing the game
Despite completing the battlepass a week or two ago, I still come back for the weekly’s if they’re not just another emblem or backdrops. Even then it feels like a slug due to the annoying challenges such as kills with certain weapons.
I’m fine with event challenges being around the event gamemode but -Yoink!-, I just got get 5 kills with the sidearm and 20 kills with the sidearm with another 10 coming in a few challenges.
