If halo “theoretically” does die someday then who here will go down with halo? How many of us will jump ship? :Reminder: I said theoretically.
I think you need to define your terms better.
I already left twice, after the monstrous cockup that was Halo 4, and after the MCC. Theres always fish in the sea.
I can’t swim but why not go down with the ship anyways.
Halo’s not a sinking ship though. There are several people getting off the boat, and many others getting aboard, but she’s still afloat. And doing quite well.
Nobody really leaves.
I’ve played Halo for a majority of my life. You don’t just drop that type of commitment to a franchise.
I mean if it does go down I’d stay but I don’t think its going down, it just the complainers speak louder because most of the people that like the game are playing the game while the others all they have time for is posts on forums now.
No matter how much a lot of these people may complain about the game and say that they’re going to stop, they don’t. The game is good and it works people are just upset over the maps and playlists myself included but that doesn’t mean the game is not fun to play. I still have a great time playing war zone and arena and while I do wish there were more maps to play on not once have I ever thought about actually stopping playing Halo all together. Seems like people use this forum to air out their frustrations. That’s fine and all I just wish that there were more people on here that actually enjoy the game and sing its praises
I keep playing
I’ll just swim over to Gear 4.
Depends on how you define sinking. Sinking because of a low population, or sinking because it abandoned core principles?
I grew up playing Halo Custom Edition (2004), and I still kept playing it well into Halo 3’s life span. However, over the years the population dropped, and was gradually replaced. It went from a game having a thriving fanbase and a ton of core gametypes on unique community made maps…to a game populated by a few hundred South Americans who don’t speak english and do nothing but host Zombies-on-BloodGulch servers. Eventually I moved on because there was absolutely nothing left for me there.
So I went down with the ship out of love for the game.
However, let’s say Halo 6 is basically Call of Halo. I have no emotional attachment to that shell of a game. I wouldn’t even buy it in the first place. So no, I wouldn’t go down with the ship in that sense.
Halo is a franchise and not a tangible thing you can “go down” with. You’ll still live no matter how well or unwell Halo does.
Meh, I’m already moving on. I like Halo and used to play it a lot, but this game, and the MCC, really doesn’t do it for me. Maybe Halo 3 Anniversary and Halo 6 will change my mind. Until then, back to CS:GO.

Except less people are coming back to Halo, certainly makes me wonder if Halo will exist in 10-20 years due to all the mistakes 343i have been making since they took over the Halo franchise. I suspect a complete reboot eventually.
By going down with the ship do you mean playing it until it’s literally dead? Because if it’s dead I won’t be playing it, no point in sitting there alone playing a dead game.
Though I don’t think Halo is even remotely close to being a “sinking ship”, I’d probably still go down with it anyways. Probably, though of course that could easily change.
Right now I feel like a passenger on the ship telling the maintenance crew “hey there’s a hole in my room and waters leaking in” and they are like “sorry man we have to replace a slot machine in the casino upstairs”
If you’re posting in this thread, the ship has already sunk and you’ve already drowned.

But hey try this pizza it takes like salty tears.
Love the title of your post OP.
I might be perturbed with 343i and their handeling of the Halo franchise.
But this Spartan will never abandon his post.
How long can you hold your breath?
