Doubters, Please Take a Look at This.

This is coming from someone who has already play tested Halo 5, and wants to send a message to the Halo community. I wanted to make sure as many of us see this as possible. It certainly gave me a lot to think about.

People played halo 4 before it launched and said it was good including this guy. We don’t pass laws before debating them, same goes for video games.

And between us and green skull and everyone else who has played and been talking about this game, they’re the only ones who has actually read the law. All we have heard are at best second hand accounts of the law.

you’re right, we don’t pass laws without debating them. But we don’t debate about laws before we read them. And the only people who have read about the law say that the law is good. So who are we to judge until we’ve read it ourselves?

Guess what, we have read this law before. Its a law called halo,I’m guessing all of us here have played it. Most of the functions players are familiar with from other games or previous installments of halo. When you visit another country and they have a law, that does not mean that the law fits well into your country. Features like sprint players are familiar with and don’t want them in the game, we have the right to debate about that.

I like you, you are good at trying to counter my arguments. But I refuse to let that happen

Well guess what bro he’s got reinforcements  i’m sorry but the halo you know is dead but change needs to happen k?

All the people that played Halo 4 before it released said it was good, and they were lying through their teeth. What makes it any different now?

Change for change’s sake doesn’t always equal progress.

For example, Bungie tried to give us SMG starts instead of Battle Rifle starts in Halo 2. They reversed their decision and actually made a public message stating that it was a bad idea.

They were having fun, while you filtered it into your own personal opinion of what a Halo game should be.

Try to take other people’s opinions into account before you make reckless arguments.

The thing your not taking into account, is that all of Greenskulls view are very similar to the average Halo player. (Halo 4 was a disappointment, the state of MCC is unacceptable) but yet he still keeps a very optimistic mind about the Halo franchise. He seems to have a very good grasp of how special classic halo is, and the fact that halo needs to innovate so that it doesn’t stagnate. From what I’ve seen, Halo 5 multi-player looks like a combination of Halo 2/3 and only the most solid of elements from Halo 4 (Tight gunplay, thruster pack, power weapon highlights) and removing qualities that messed with the skill gap. (All those crappy AA’s, Ordinance, Heavy focus on sprinting around maps, unbalanced starts). Then they breathed some originally designed life into it to change the game without breaking the balance and the nostalgic feel for veterans of the franchise. All that sounds pretty good to me.

On one hand, sure, there’s a little too much negativity. I fully agree with that, criticism that isn’t constructive isn’t going to help.

That said, I don’t agree that we aren’t capable of giving feedback before the game comes out. I know how sprint plays with Halo, we’ve been using it for four years. Do I know how much Halo 5’s balance for sprint will help things, if at all? No. But at the very least I can voice the fact that I didn’t agree with sprint before, and I don’t particularly think this balance for it is going to negate the other flaws I see in the mechanic.

Hence I voice that opinion.

Clamber as another example is the same mechanic as mantling from CoD. I know how the mechanic works, and Greenskull/RUL himself has also explained it in one of his videos. Do I know exactly how it’s going to affect Halo 5’s gameplay with the minute changes to pace and flow? No, but I can extrapolate based on prior knowledge. It’s not concrete and the opinion is likely to change in the future.

If we have pre-existing knowledge of mechanics, in my opinion there is a very large degree to which we discuss them. They aren’t magically different between games, even if they’re tweaked. They still accomplish the same goal with the same form of input as before. Whether the details change or not, sprint is still sprint, mantle is still mantle.

So sure, we could do with less negativity. But we’re also not entirely incapable of giving constructive feedback before the game releases, it just needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Change already happened when Halo 2 came out. Are you basically implying that change should happen without any regard of balance, skill, and replay valve? Because Halo 2 and 3 were able to be different from Halo: CE and each other while keeping all of those attributes.

So one guy says it’s good and a few “pros” and were all supposed to be like “oh ok, take my money” they said this with halo 4 too. I watched the video, I agree with him on some things but not others.

Everyone is going to like something new, your excited and such. You need to have that “it’s new and exciting” feeling ware off, THEN make a judge of the game.

Greenskull is just a person, like you and I. I’ll decide if halo 5 is good or not thanks.

After Spartan assult, halo 4 and especially the MCC, I have my doubts 343I can delivery a good, not broken game… let a lone a triple A game. Time will tell.

For at least the first week, everyone liked halo 4. I guess 410,000 people are liers then.

Sorry, no. The game has sprint. Without, I could have tolerated it. Every map is a BTB map in this game.

343 pays youtubers. Every PRO said it was amazing (Obviously paid, or a contract of some kind) at start but later dropped the act, and said they didn’t actually like it when they were talking about Halo 4.

I will credit 343 on the Halo 5 stats page though. It’s seems to actually be well made, with lots of important stats.

Proof? That’s a bit of bold claim your making there.

After the first MLG Halo 4 every PRO said (They got interviewed) that 343 did an amazing job on the game, and they really felt like it was returning to Halo. Now, there are plenty of videos where the pros are trashing the game. I know that Ghandi has some videos, and the HaloCouncil used to have some.

I don’t believe he didn’t get payed to say what he did. It’s obviously why he has gotten to play the game early, because he is popular on youtube. 343 wants him to advertise the game and say just positive stuff, so that people will buy their game. It’s kind of like why pewdiepie is now in South Park or how Pewdiepie managed to singel handedly boost the sales on Skate again.

And by the way, Halo 5 looks even easier than Halo 4.

Halo 5 will feel like Halo 4, without the randomness (Still a terrible game by any means).

Once again, a lot of people liked halo 4 at first, even ghandi admits to liking it at first before he realized it was bad. The pros only played it a few times.
Pewdiepie, is also the most subscribed youtube channel, who the hell even knows who someone like ghandi is outside of this community.
I also missed the part where you played the game.

It’s obvious as to why developers would want big youtube stars and the press or pros, people that has influence, to play, or pay them to make videos about their games.

Every gaming company does this kind of thing.

Even 343 has admitted that they dropped the ball with multi-player in Halo 4. The 4 multi-player as it is in the Master Chief Collection is about as good as it can get mechanics-wise. At launch it was about a million time worse! But post-weapon tuning it was much more satisfying. The biggest problems with the balancing in Halo 4 to this day are how under powered they made plasma pistols and plasma grenades.

I’m sure there will be plenty to gripe about when we get a hold of the H5 Beta, but if we go into it thinking about how much potential it has, however flawed, instead of posting hatemail on Waypoint and flaming it for not being like Halo X, Y, or Z, we might actually get a quality game in 2015.

Again, people liked halo 4 at launch, it wasn’t until 2 weeks after release that everyone realized it wasn’t a good game. Your not going to hate a game after one half hour session, your entire argument is generalization that all these people are getting paid, try again.
