Doubles quitting.. What the -Yoink-!

The heat of a doubles match is on, your partner and you are down a mere five points which you know damn well you can make up.

Yes… You’re getting angrier each death but the hope of winning is still in you…and then!..

Partner Quits

-Yoink-.

You see, Doubles is a fairly unique playlist in my opinion because it really truly relies on teamwork. When a teammate quits, unless you have perfect tactics and a lot of skill, you are absolutely boned.

I personally think there should be a credit/KD ratio penalty for quitting certain playlists like this. It really screws over your teammate who will then have to suffer through a match of getting team shot.

Possibly losing (I’m not sure what the current credit/armor unlocking system is in Halo 4, so let me know if this doesn’t work) 5,000 credits every time you quit, and an added 2,000 for every time you quit in a row will decrease the appeal of quitting.

Quitting should never be your first choice when losing a match, accept your loss like a man and just try your best. You never know what a few good shots and a little luck will do or how it will change the score.

Does anybody feel me? I’m not sure how many people play Doubles, it’s my preferred game type for the lack of unnecessary explosions and extreme grenade spam, and I’m more of a small game type of player.

Yep, its happened to me. I was playing Synapse and my friend and I were about tied against the other guys and all of the sudden, “Hey I gotta go eat breakfast good luck!” and he quits. I lost horribly as both people just sniped away. Or I got chased down through ridiculous lengths of the map.

But yeah, without a buddy, you get screwed.

Really Don’t think a punishment should be given because people disconnect or have to go do something, But ya if you quit more than 5 times every 1 hour a punishment should be given

I love doubles, but if you pick Countdown or objective, I’ll probably quit, no matter how bad the opponents are. I like being the 1 in 2v1’s though…doesn’t bother me that much if my partner quits because I’m not relying on them to carry me.

I completely agree, but a penalty should be applied to quitting in all “competitive” playlists, not only doubles.

My problem is different though; I play doubles with my brother and we completely dominate 95% of the opponents. This results in the other team quitting from about 60% of all games we play; and I’m not talking about quitting in the final minutes either; they quit as soon as they realize they will lose, which frequently occurs after 2-5 kills.

A rank system coupled with a quitting penalty as per your request would solve both problems I find in this scenario. (1) I would not even get matched up against beginners who quite possibly rented the game over the weekend, and (2) the fact that quitting would effectively result in rank-descent and loss in credits/exp would make quitting an undesirable action to take.

That is what friends are for. Find a reliable person that doesn’t quit out on you and search together. Simple yet effective way to avoid quitters.

Even your opponents can quit, leaving you in a boring 1v2 game.
