Doubles Pro - Tracker

I agree that most Pro playlists should not have motion trackers enabled, but I don’t think it works well not having it in the Doubles Pro playlist. It’s far too easy to spawn and surprise assassinate foes since there are less eyes to help watch for flanks and campers. Bungie added motion trackers the to Doubles Arena Pro playlist after finding out it didn’t work well. I think everything else with Doubles is great!!!

no
doubles pro was the only good thing 343 ever did
motion tracker would ruin it
call outs>radar

NO. Radar in doubles leads to slow campy game play where people just crouch around the map afraid to push because the game will tell the enemy of their approach.

Halo does not have a radar.

That said, yes, I would kill for a gametype like the existing pro gametypes by with motion tracker enabled.

implying radar and motion tracker arent the same thing…
smartass

LOL. I think the argument that radar somehow assists campers is silly. There are much more surprise “hide” kills and assassinations with no motion trackers. When they are enabled, you can still crouch in on someone that you think may be hiding around a corner. Not mention, with no trackers the game becomes run and gun only. There are actually less strategic elements available for the player to utilize when no one has to worry about showing up on a tracker. I’d hardly call that a Pro play style.

imo it should have a radar that only shows your buddy but not the enemies. similar to the mlg/agl customs

Its not hard to hear the foot steps of the enemy coming up from behind you just listen and you will get assassinated less. There is no need for the motion tracker. But I do agree that it would be nice to have a motion tracker for your teammate so you can see where your team died.

They literally aren’t. A motion tracker -ONLY- shows movement. If there is no movement, or movement is not sufficient enough to trigger the tracker, it is blank.

A radar bounces a sonic ping off of surroundings and gives you every minute terrain deformation as well as objects and it is left to the user to determine if there is movement in it or not. The refresh rate of a radar also directly correlates to the rate of pings that are sent out. Not only that, but radar is audible.

Halo’s radar is a motion tracker. It will only show people when they move which is insensitive to crouch walk or stand still. Both of which slow down game play. If I can see people walking towards me and there are no indications of where I am because I am crouching or standing still why would I not abuse that. If you try to camp without radar you have less information on where the enemy is coming from and are more likely to get outplayed/flanked.

Maybe if you play like an idiot. Without radar player individual awareness is more of a factor in victory. Without radar more emphasis is put on things like knowing players tendencies, predicting movements, being unpredictable, communicating with teammates, and flanking. There is a reason every competitive playlist, competitive game types and respected tournament since Halo CE have had radar off.

LOL. Doubles just works better with the tracker on. When there are only 2 sets of eyes on the field it doesn’t matter how much you talk. Very easy to sit back and watch for players to pass by without seeing you and get surprise kills. That’s not Pro play style. The tracker being on in Doubles makes for more balanced competitive gameplay.
