Ugh, those first two responses make me weep for the future.
OP, I agree. If I had to guess, I’d assume it has something to do with sale numbers for Mt…Dew / Doritos across the pond. They probably made this deal ages ago, maybe it wasn’t worth doing… whatever it is they’d have to do.
If I am in the uk and I (hypothetically) bought codes off the internet, and then linked it to my gamertag, would it work?

I don’t think so. I know American codes won’t work here in Canada, and we actually have the DEWXP thing, too.

It would be good if they did it at least across western nations, rather then just Canda/America. Europe has a big halo following, Same with Australia and New zealand. We have a Energy drink promotion going at the moment in Australia to win a Halo 4 xbox. The things have been flying off the shelf, so I’m completely baffled by this move.
I was gutted when i found out that UK has no double XP, its just not fair

That’s cute, if you used your brain for awhile you realize that the double exp bonus is irrelevant. Oh wow, a bad player from the US has more exp thab me big whoop. He/she is still bad regardless if he has a DMR, Storm Rifle, or LightRifle. They are still going to get roflstomped badly.
A good player can beat you with any weapon because of his skill; not the necessarily the content of his/her unlocks. The same good player will spank you with the DMR, AR, BR, etc.
It’s not much of an advantage. Go grind Spartan Ops if you are that worried about it. I am telling you, a gun is as good as a player is using it.
So no, it’s not a big deal to have double exp here in the states. I like it just for the fact it provides more awareness for Halo 4.

Yeah, I thought it was strange too. You’d think they’d want to try and spread the hype around, 'specially with virtual rewards.

It is a bit silly. Hopefully the people who have access to such codes don’t get such a huge head start with them.
Hey hey, you should be more grateful. We’re doing this for you. We are putting our lives at risk here. WE are the ones chugging our way to diabetes one Game Fuel bottle at a time for double XP, something that will probably happen on a weekly basis once Halo 4 hits. And because of that I’m proud to be a member of these United Doritos of Dewmerica.

From your comment i can assume that you are not deprived of the double xp bonus?
The fact of the matter is yes is doesn’t improve your skill, but it helps people complete their armor and emblems and what not. And why shouldn’t us in the rest of the world have double XP, we have mountain DEW just no bonus codes for XP

Holy hell, what’s wrong with you people? OP isn’t complaining that others are going to outrank, and therefore be “better” than him, but is just a little miffed that he got excluded from even getting a shot at the same rewards as us. Why all the hostility? It makes so little sense, you almost owe me brain cells at yhis point, because I had to read your responses.
