Double xp US only. Fair?

So 343 thinks that the only place where there are dedicated halo player is the USA? How is it fair that just because they happens to live there, they could get a shitton of double xp by just buying doritos. So every other halo player in the world will have to play double so many games to reach the same ranks. This is even worse than the reach ranking system. Rank does not matter anymore, only how much snack you can afford. This saddens me deeply. Activision did this for mw3. Enough said.

Edit: At least they should come up with an alternative. Maybe connected to your halo gamerscore etc.
And why is the Dxp US only. If i want to order 200 pack of doritos and have ti ordered to Norway, I should be able to get the double xp

Edit2: Changed the title so this wont get locked. Maybe we can get a alternative for non US.

UK gets a chance of winning the game.
US gets double xp.

Seems fair to me considering they are the two biggest console gaming “countries”.

I don’t see how dismissing every other country aside from those two in the whole world is even remotely fair. You know, there are other countries around the world, after all.

I really don’t care. I, like everybody outside the US, have my searching options set to “local only”. So there will not be any “unfair” matches against US players as I’ll only be playing with fellow Aussies, whose progress will be just as fast as mine.

Marketing, they can’t promote with mtn dew and doritos all over the world, different laws apply to each country.

Calm down, it’s simple and efficient marketing.

Like rank matters anyways… It’s purely cosmetic and only proves that you play the game way too much. This honestly isn’t that surprising as North America has the largest player base for Halo 4 and the Xbox 360. So, the US gets a head start? So what? There will likely be plenty of opportunities to “catch up” if that is what you are interested in.

They are the two biggest gaming “countries” other european countries don’t really have huge commercial interest into games with the exception of France, Germany and The Netherlands.

Its still not fair. There is so many other ways to advertise the game that dosnt effect players not living in the Uk or USA. I have been exited for everything they have done. I was really hyped for this game. I dont know anymore, at least Bungie didnt go crazy totall sellout.

Lol 343 sold out because we have Doritos and mountain dew double XP in the US…yea that’s a limited statement

Well then get your local store to pay a million bucks for advertising bonuses then.

It’s business. They make a ton of money by pushing advertising in locations where the game sells the strongest. Im sure it’s not personal. I’m sorry you have to play more halo.

Why are you blaming 343 for Frito-Lay’s and Pepsi’s limited distribution and a deal for which they probably paid out the butt?

So you’ve lost faith in a games developer, because of the promotional agreements they’ve been able to secure with food and drink brands companies, available in limited geographical areas, that provides bonus XP in a game where XP is used for aesthetic pieces?

Seems legit. But seriously, stop being over dramatic. If you want to lose faith in 343, that’s fine, just wait until you’ve played Halo 4 and have something solid to base that on, rather than your disappointment that you can’t get some extra XP.

I wouldn’t make such an assumption. Unless, of course, you can give me statistical analysis of the amount of gamers in European countries relative to the population. I doubt there are any major differences in those numbers. The real reason why those countries get everything is due to the general larger population which naturally gives a larger amount of gamers.

I also understood long ago why we in the other countries never get anything, we just aren’t a large enough slice from the consumer base to matter commercially. I have even learned to accept that. In fact, if there was such a campaign, I don’t think I’d really care personally. However, fair it isn’t. And that is especially emphasized with the progressive ranking system of Halo 4 where the double exp players get an advantage over anyone else.

One thing people don’t understand is its Microsoft that does advertising. To say 343 sold out is irrational. I can’t believe these forums complain about these pathetic things. There is a great community being covered up with nonsense like this.

Yeah I might have overreacted a bit. Im not saying that halo 4 will be bad. Im super exited and will be playing it for months. Ive played halo since halo 1, I loved reach. Love the changes halo 4 brings, and think 343 has done an exellent job, making an amazing game. I love halo, and would really like to race up the ranks as fast as everyone else, escpecialy considering that you unlock better weapons andperks for xp.

you only care about the location of the contest?

I thought the fact that 343i is selling XP with Doritos was the sell out.

Isn’t it a copy of the game with the Halo 4 console?
