Double XP exp timer should ONLY count when you're in a match

Losing double exp time because queuing is very frustrating especially when the game keeps losing pop and some playlist have long queue times, thats minutes lost, i dont think more needs to be said.

Even counting match-time doesn’t make sense.
Basically, if you play BTB or get into overtime, you get punished. Especially since you get fixed amounts of XP, no matter what or how (good) you play.

But this is an age-old discussion. It hasn’t changed til now, and there is little hope that it will ever change.

343 already came out and said they’re not changing it, even though examples like this are completely unacceptable.

Honestly I just don’t think they can. “UI limitations” and all that.

The compromise was they boosted the time from 30min to an hour.

Would you take a reduction back to 30 minutes if they figured out how to do game time only?

I’d prefer it to be done on a per match basis.

It sucks I know - I posted a similar thread before.

A temporary (not perfect) fix is to activate the boost only when you’ve found your ‘first match’. Meaning once you’ve started searching, head over to to the season pass > exp boost button, and standby to click it once the match is found.

But the fun part is that you only need the double XP at the start of the match, not at the end.

I have had several times that I only had 1 more minute of double XP on the clock, then played a game of 10 minutes or so, but got the double XP rewards anyway.

So in a way, the 2x XP lasts longer than an hour.

I was going to say the same thing. I’ve squeezed in another 2XP match with seconds on the clock.

I know this is just another work around, but Land Grab games tend to be quicker, so you can squeeze in some more rounds.

Don’t use them during BTB or Ranked matches.

I very much agree with this.

It just took me over 20 minutes to find a match. I don’t use XP boost because this is a common experience for me. They are useless to me
