The reason I make thread about doubble jump is simply because I hate Sprint. In one of my previous threads where I gave reasons for why not to have a sprint in halo 4, one of the posters tells me that sprint gives tactical jumps several possibilities, but my answer to it is simply a doubble jump.
A Tactical Jump, the doubble jump, is a jump where the second jump can bounce you off any wall. This would bring jumps and skill to the game, remember just a little bounce

Hmm… I think this would work without impacting the core gameplay TOO much. I was thinking of the ability to grab ledges for awhile, combined with this I think would be a nice addition. I still have to think.
EDIT: I’m defiantly down with this. I think this would influence map design alot(in a good way), adding much more verticality, not only in matchmaking, but in the campaign as well.
I fully agree with you that sprint does no belong in Halo …or any other high testosterine game. GoW 3 implilmented it well…you can’t use it to get away because you slow down to your normal speed when sprinting…
Have you ever thought of a speed boost button? to be able to shoot AND sprint? i personally think that would be amazing…

Oh, right.
Sprint and double jump would work well together. I have posted this idea before.
Lets look at how the furthest possible horizontal jumps can be accomplished.
No Sprint, No Double Jump: Jog, Jump, Crouch
Sprint, No Double Jump: Sprint-Jump, Crouch
Sprint, Double Jump: Sprint-Jump, Double-Jump, Crouch
Double Jump would be accomplished by activating Chiefs thrust pack after Jumping.
At first I thought you meant Super Mario Bros. style. But it would certainly be interesting.
I HATE sprint in Reach, but again I don’t think double jumping will go great with HALO fans. There is really no need if their are already jet packs.

Its not an opinion. Its a fact. Sprinting into the Blue Lift on Sword Base gives a different trajectory than jogging into it. Being able to use one lift to reach so many different locations is only possible with Sprint.
How is having the option to reach many locations from one lift bad?
As for MLG, if they didn’t want Sprint they wouldn’t have it. I don’t care what the forums say.

The only reason they have sprint in reach MLG is to not go any further away from the game … they already have pick ups …

it goes without saying, why do you think? No one in the MLG forums likes it, but they still have it. If you search on youtube you can also find Snipedown speaking out about bloom, and possibly pros speaking out about other stuff like sprint too.
