I believe that the base warthog needs a bit of a buff. Not health wise i’m talking about the turret because it’s never really used because the second someone get on the turret their shot off and when you engage someone who has a br or dmr you can start at the same time but they would win and this is with out missing. ikd if this is just me and my friends when we play but honestly if it was just buffed just a little maybe more people in warzone would use the base warthog more instead of the oni one.
It’s already usable, you just need a driver that doesn’t drive into a group of 12 enemies and expect to get out unscathed.
In btb the warthog is pretty much never used
its hard enough trying to get a gunner when you have oni

I can only assume what they mean is that even when you have an OP hog that people still won’t get in, let alone a base hog.
Also, I agree I think that the cool down on the turret needs to be extended. I’m hesitant on saying that there needs to be even a slight damage buff, but when you have a driver is not even going full speed it’s almost impossible to kill one opponent in an open field just from the time it takes to get the kill.
My suggestion for the sandbox team would to be either decrease the cool down and kill time by a small margin on Spartans on foot, and slightly decrease the damage done to enemy vehicles. This would keep the sandbox balance and keep it canonical, while at the same time improving game play.
Though, this is just like…my opinion, man.
The reason why the base warthog is so weak is because 343 wants you to buy reqs for the better warthogs, Woodland, Tundra, etc.
Honestly the Warthog is fine but you just need a guerilla driver and good gunner. Most of the time there is one or the other.

That is honestly one of the worst excuses I’ve seen from someone to justify buying REQs, you don’t even have to play the game for more than one hour, just get a silver pack and you’re almost guaranteed to get a Warthog cert or just a Warthog from the pack, hell even the daily packs give em to you really easy
The only difference between the base warthog and the Corp/tundra/urban/woodland variants is the armor, and I’ve had a ton of games where all of those variants have been used quite effectively. The difference is that I’ve only seen them used effectively on my team when I’m playing with my friends or Spartan Company. I wouldn’t expect randoms to be good drivers (most of the time they’re terrible), so naturally most people are reluctant to hop into the gunner seat.
With a good driver and a competent gunner, regular through camo warthogs can get a ton of kills early in the game, and can be effective in capturing bases. In big team, they’re practically necessary for escorting the flag carrier.
I think the turret works well enough for what it’s supposed to be used for. The only buff needed is already in place with the oni warthog and the Gauss/rocket/sword hog variants.

No, it doesn’t need buffed. A good driver and a halfway decent gunner can make a near immortal pair.
The base Warthog isn’t meant to be a late game item. You call them in early when they are useful. It’s a level 2 REQ, meaning you can get out and slaughter with it right after home base is secured without having to worry about Plasma pistols or Battle Rifles.

I thought there was no overheating on the Corps Warthog.

im pretty sure that the turret should have the same accuracy, fire rate, damage and cool down between the base, Corp and camo hogs.
