In the gameplay overview we saw the other day, it showed a “Doomed State” for vehicles when they are heavly damaged and near destruction. While the mechanic itself is good (I am a fan), the red outline of the vehicle once it is in a “Doomed State” looks superfluous and silly, makes the game seem more cartoony. I reckon they should remove it. I wanna hear what other people think, maybe 343 will listen.

Since we are Spartans with dumb AI we have systems that can tell us these things. I actually love it because it makes sure people can’t hoard vehicles and probably the main reason they are being added back to 4 v 4.

The doomed state itself is a good mechanic, keep that in. I feel that they should remove that red outline. Use visual and audio cues within the world to communicate to us “oh damn, this thing boutta blow.” Like in GTA, have a bunch of smoke and fire. The red outline isn’t necessary. They could do both, and allow us to adjust the red outline for the doomed state.

Why wouldn’t we have an indicator like that with a dumb AI though? What about it bothers you?
It doesn’t bother me much at all. I just registered it as a part of your HUD (granted you are in third person in vehicles in Halo, but you always still retained HUD elements, like vehicle health in CE, reticles, and a boost gauge in later games)
I’d like to see a feature in more action than a single clip before I ask for it to be removed.

No, leave vehicles outta most 4v4s

Why? Halo is suppose to be fun first and foremost. People tend to forget that not everything has to be MLG. Classic Halo had vehicle 4v4 maps. I agree with “most” though.

I see where you’re coming from, I still hate the idea of people just using the vehicles. They’re kinda OP in gameplay.

That is why I think they added these mechanics for balance. They do get irritating however Halo 2 had some counters like shooting the side engine of a ghost.

It still can turn the tide of the game drastically, more than a sniper or rockets can.

That’s what is great about Halo though. I disagree with changing it drastically more. They have plenty of ways to deal with vehicles if you work as a team. Especially now that these vehicles are susceptible to areas of damage.

It’s great for the more social fun people, Ik that us hardcore players aren’t entitled to the “social playlists” but not everyone likes vehicles on 4v4s. Jus how it is, hard to explain but I get why u enjoy em

I completely get it, but we have to remember our roots. We got into Halo because of those crazy just fun moments then we transitioned into hardcore players. It’s hard to look back on, but that is why Halo used to be so popular IMO.

I was sayin exactly that. Us Hardcore players aren’t entitled to the “main” part of Halo MP.

At launch they absolutely need a social playlist for us hardcore players and ranked. The game is F2P and they are going to get some CS GO treatment if all of us play socials lol.

I hadn’t noticed the red outline for the doomed state. It may be one of the options we can customise, like the Spartan outlines.
