Doom 2016 Style Codex

I know people say That Halo shouldn’t try to copy other games but out of all the Games out there i think Doom 2016 is the Game that Halo should be looking to for inspiration. For anyone Who hasn’t played Doom 2016. Just go to Youtube and Look up Doom 2016 Codex. IT explains itself literally. I would also like The HCEA/H2A/H4 style Terminals but if I had to choose between the two then the Doom 2016 Codex is easily the answer for me. There is just some much more there.

Totally agree with this. Both games feel so different and yet there is a lot that 343i can take inspiration from for making Infinite better.

I agree wholeheartedly. 343 could learn a thing or two from ID software when it comes to giving the fans exactly what they want.

Yeah, I think it would be very cool to have a coded system where you can look at all the different enemies, allies, vehicles, weapons, and battlegrounds that you come across

that would be a great idea I think that is something halo needs in its games

But it is :wink:"I’m very old school and very biased when it comes to Doom". Back on topic I like the idea of the Doom codex, but that might be changing, I know there’s more lore coming to Doom Eternal and it will be interesting to see how it’s delivered to us. I think your idea is good though.

I love it when games have codexes having information about various different things like enemies/allies/weapons/vehicles/locations/races, would love if H6 had a nice detailed one.

What halo should take inspiration from Doom is the *Snap map.*But i agree the halo terminals should contain more features

Yeah, DOOM is defs better than Halo when it comes to user created content, as Sigil, a wad that is being made by John Romero to be released this April can pretty much attest… It’s crazy to imagine that a game released 26 years ago can still be so much fun and have so much support from it’s fans to this day…

Lore nerds have been asking for a full blown Codex ala Mass Effect or Doom 2016 ever since we got the Timeline back in Halo Wars. I think 343 has probably been paying attention and will have something along those lines in Infinite.

I personally think a codex would be a great idea.
