If you would have just released the game with a working split screen in the first place, people would play with more than one guest and you wouldn’t have had to do this in the first place.
A decent map rotation would have been nice too, i popped in halo 4 yesterday, went into infinity slayer, seen the 3 maps there to choose from, and dashboarded. (your experiences may differ)
I’m surprised split-screen wasn’t cut, single screen play alone pushed the Xbox 360 to the limit, including split-screen was a huge mistake.
I don’t see this as a bad change at all, the whole point of this update was to improve the experience for split-screen players and increase overall map variety.

Split screen being cut would have killed Halo for me. The only reason I play almost exclusively with Halo as my FPS is because I can have actual people in the room when I’m playing it and they can join in. Halo should be optimized for split screen. Not the other way around.

But it was more difficult Halo 4 to do so, that’s the thing, I love split screen though

However if the splitscreeners were being optimized, the singler players wouldn’t really miss anything and there would be no problems. A situation of you don’t miss what you never had.
Halo has been a social game from the very beginning. I feel with the less than impressive net code for firefight and spartan ops and the lack of care split screen gets shows me that the social era of games are dying.
