For the people that have stuck with halo for a long time?
Like a helmet, an avatar, or a camoskin. Or even nameplates again. Something small just to show a little bit of appreciation.
I mean on Reach i have noticed that most of the people that play it (when i check their legacy) dont really have that many games played or players killed in Halo 3 or ODST. It’s kind of a shame. I mean i’m by all means welcoming new players to the world of halo but i mean since i barely come across old players that have been with the game for a long time there should be some kind of reward for supporting the franchis since for a long time.
Here is a good historical analogy. The Romans offered citizenship to their conquered peoples as they expanded their empire which, in the end, was a big part of its downfall because Roman citizenship was a great honor.
I believe that 343 should honor their ‘veterans’ so to speak with incentives such as other camo skins and avatars or something if they meet a certain criteria for past games such as a certain number of kills and a certain number of games played and the level of difficulty the campaign was beaten.
Just a thought of course, probably wont happen, but just a thought.
not really, no, the reward you get is from playing the game itself and having a good time, you shouldn’t be giving anything over other people just because you’ve played an older halo because they’re paying the same amount for the game as you are.

You are not a veteran, you are not more important, more special, or more of a fan than anyone else.
We are all fans of Halo, we are all equal in our enjoyment and fanaticism of Halo. We are not entitled to anything special.
Here is your reward: Fun and the ability to keep playing Halo. Enjoy!
I’d like there to be some legacy unlocks in the game. I liked reach’s simple nameplates to just show people that you played the older games. It gives you nothing more than that so I don’t see why it’s a big deal to have a small unlock.

Well it wouldnt be anything really big. Another example is with Jak And Dexter for PS2. If you had a save point from any of their previous games you could unlock new weapons and have special privelages.
It wouldnt be anything big like i said. Just something like the rewards that people get for pre-ordering the game. People that play past games and spend money on those help further the franchise and in a sense should reserve some extra entitlement in my opinion. Also, how the rap artist mac miller supplied his first million followers on twitter with a free mixtape for supporting him since the beginning. Just another example.

Such a rude tone… jeeze. Calm down. It was just an opinion. I didnt say people that played the game longer should have an advantage over newer players. Just a freaking avatar or camo skin.
In addition to what others have said, it is difficult to gauge how long someone has been playing.
In your example, you used kills and games played. However, I played Halo 3 for 3-4 years straight, but only played Reach for a total time of about 1-1.5 years. However, I have 50% more kills in Reach than in Halo 3, and I have played almost the same amount of games in Matchmaking.
Also, I’ve been playing Halo since Halo CE, but I wasn’t as involved with Xbox Live during Halo 2 days, and so it looks like I rarely played it.
I think those nameplates in Reach were nice touches, but nothing more.

How did you apply tone to reading text when you can’t hear me say it?
Perhaps next time I should distribute smiley faces and exclamation points so you don’t automatically assume I was trying to be rude.
I wasn’t rude, I just write short and to the point. It is your fault for taking it with a “rude” tone. Here I have an idea, re-read it with a smile and a higher inflection in your voice, that will change the way you thought I wrote it.
Not really. I’ve been playing since CE but I have a different account than I had before. My account right now says I’ve only been playing since 2-3 months before Reach came out.
343i confirmed unlockables through Waypoint in one of the weekly updates, if I recall correctly. I imagine your rewards for playing previous Xbox 360 Halo titles will be in there.

You can apply tone and mood to text… have you ever taken a literature class? ((((::::

Well then you must have done poorly in Literature class because I wasn’t being rude.
