So I noticed that you can buy the mark v alpha set with the new REQ bundle. And that anyone with enough luck will be able to unlock Helioskrill with the new update.
Are they gonna give Achilles away too?
Our Spartan company has been working long and hard to achieve that prestigious getup, and we’re still only a quarter of the way there. But this will only make it that much sweeter when we finally hit that 5/5 mark on that very last commendation and receive that long-awaited req pack.
…But then I easily imagine a ‘reskinned’ Achilles set being released in the very next community update that anyone can get by normal means in a req pack. Just like any other ultra rare armor set.
This isn’t an issue with Achilles yet, but I’m saying it now because I don’t want it to be. Giving away hard-earned armor seems to be a growing trend around here.
343 doesn’t really seem to catch on to the whole “this armor was hard to get” thing, so I’m pretty sure all of it will be easy to get eventually. Actually the only Halo that never caved and just gave everyone free stuff was Halo: Reach. Any extra armor or effect you got was either earned or bought in like a pre-order bonus. You also got nameplates for linking up with Bungie.net but that was it. In Halo 2 there was no special armor and in 3 they eventually gave away all the armors as well as the flaming head. So it will probably happen, as much as that sucks.

That really isn’t the only way to get it, it is however the quickest, companies would still be able to get it ALMOST as fast if they just played games through to the win while going for commendations.
343 should not give away achillies, as it would ruin the whole point of achillies, the fact they are giving away helioskrill shows how much they want to appeal to the players that hardly play the game and the complainers who aren’t willing to put work in, like yourselves. (which makes no sense)
I refuse to grind for achillies I am not in a spartan company…I want to see hayabusa armor return without the sword but I kind doubt it will happen unfortunately…
I couldn’t care less… i don’t even know what achilles looks like. They should give it away right away so the farming stops and the salty tears will fill the forums enough so they don’t have to care about real issues…
