When I use Forge why are all of re-spawns set to NATURAL? Do you really want the enemy to spawn at your base?
I wonder who the genius was that thought was a good idea? ![]()
If nobody is at your base then sure. In some objective game modes it could be bad but in slayer modes why not?
This explanation is correct.
You could always go back to Halo CE, where its either A) Spawn on teammate or B) absolutely random.
Which game are you talking about? A specific map to talk about will also help. Make sure you are viewing spawns that are relevant to that gametype. When you enter forge with the generic forge gametype then every single object will show up. When you enter forge with a CTF gametype then objects that are set to only appear in KotH will NOT show up.
The reason for these neutral spawns is to allow for players to spawn where enemies are not. Let’s say that red team leaves their base, kills all of blue team, and enters the blue team base. Where should blue team respawn? The neutral spawn points you are seeing are coupled with strong, weak, and anti respawn zones to influence when they are used. They allow for blue team to respawn in the red team base or around the middle of the map only under very certain conditions.
You can learn a lot by opening up an official original Bungie or 343i multiplayer map in forge and looking at how it was setup. There are guides on how to set up spawns correctly so that you can use these extra features.
Capture The Flag maps. I have to remove all of the spawns in the map then put them closer to your base instead of spawning in the middle of the map or at the enemies base! I have never had a Neutral spawn in any of my maps since Halo Combat Evolved. ![]()
I was asking which Halo game you’re talking about.
REF: Custom Games!!
I was talking about “ALL” of them! I have of delete all of them so user’s don’t spawn near the enemies base or in the middle of the map! I put the spawn near the user’s base!
Peace!

This link is for Reach. I don’t have a guide on tap beyond this same info duplicated on a second website. Sorry for the huge delay before. I don’t visit this website often. I should have posted it then.

The purpose of the neutral respawn points are to allow either team to spawn there. You can also use team-specific spawnpoints that you increase/decrease the relative (to all possible spawn points) chance to spawn there. It’s tricky to set it up so don’t worry about it unless you want to attempt to use them. It’s rare to see, hard to test, and difficult to get it working well. That’s why I mentioned checking out official 343i & Bungie maps for good examples.
You can use strong zones, weak zones, and anti- zones. They work with the game’s internal respawn system. It’s ultimately decided more by a series of weights (think of +1s and -1s to specific spots as determined by “simple” dynamic gameplay things such as where players are) than RNG (which can play a noticeable part if spots have an equal weight).
Exactly!
Example: If you are playing CTF you sure in the hell don’t want the enemy spawning near base. OK, ever since Halo Combat Evolved I setup my all of my spawns for “DEFENSE ONLY”. I have been a defence player going back to Starsiege Tribes back in 1998.
I am a defence player and always will be. I am not a offence player at all. When I play offence It’s only about 10% of the tine lol.
Peace@

This shouldn’t happen in CTF. But in Slayer I don’t see the problem.
Ya I know
Just for fun pic any map in MCC and boot up forge. It’s really funny to see all the Neutral Spawns in a CTF Map. ![]()
