Don't start releasing Halo games every year

I know that 343/Microsoft haven’t actually said that Halo is a yearly franchise but i’m afraid that’s what Halo will turn into. Look at this:

01’ - Halo CE
04’ - Halo 2
07’ - Halo 3
09’ - Wars(Originally for 08’)
09’ - ODST
10’ - Reach
11’ - Anniversary
12’ - Halo 4

FIVE Halo games in the last THREE years. That’s worse than Call of Duty. MS did this because of Halo 3’s massive success but they’ve been slowly giving players Halo fatigue. It’s been a year since Reach’s release and there’s an average of 90,000 - 110,000 players online every day. A year from Halo 3’s release, there was 250,000 - 350,000 players online despite COD4’s and WAW’s massive success. This just shows that Halo once had a much, much stronger and loyal fanbase that has given up on the series over the last 5 releases. Point is, getting people excited for a game over a long period of time sells much more than releasing it yearly(In Halo’s case. Not all other games have this issue). Plus the quality of the game is so much better. COD is the obvious exception to this, but that’s because most COD consumers are casuals that just buy whatever their friends are playing and don’t realize that COD devs are feeding them the same garbage in a different wrapper. If Halo could capture the old fans’ attention back with a game that stays true to the originals and the franchise isn’t milked to death, Halo can be back on top soon enough.

One more example: Skyrim. Oblivion sold around half of what Skyrim has sold to date. But over 5 years the amount of hype generated for the next game skyrocketed. And now we’re here with Skyrim nearing 7,000,000 units sold. That’s more than impressive for an RPG.

One last example: GTA. GTA IV came out in 08’ and V was announced with no specified date(Most likely late 2012 or early 13’). GTA IV has sold MONSTER numbers rivaling that of COD’s. Now 3 years later, look at the insane amount of excitement one trailer has generated. 10,000,000 views on YouTube. How? Time. Let the fans get ultra-excited! It’s better for Halo. And the fans.

Halo wars was not even done by bungie, it was done by Ensemble Studios. ODST was not a real Halo game. Just a campaign and H3’s multiplayer. Anniversary is just a remake, and that was mostly done by sabre. Oh and also take into account that most people don’t like Reach, and thats why they’re not playing it.

They won’t man.
12’ - Halo 4
15’ - Halo 5
18’ - Halo 6
and then after that I don’t know what they are going to do with Halo.

Im ok with a spinoff between the trilogy games, but if they release a trilogy-game every year i bet they won’t be very good.

They didn’t plan to.

Lol ODST and Halo CEA are map packs with alittle treat to give to the fans. The main series usually have 2-3 years between them.

When they started making the games they didn’t plan to release the games that close to each other. It just happened. We won’t be getting yearly releases.
