The purpose for this thread is simple, do NOT show the Master Chief’s face. It goes against the original philosophy of Master Chief and should not be screwed with. The only point in which they should show his face should be when he dies, or he is used/shown for the very last time in a halo game. Obviously this is all my opinion, but people seem to forget that.
They already did with the comics.
I’ve seen it, and it’s not really showing his face. His actual features are shadowy and hard to determine. Plus he was a child, and we all know looks can change in the time between childhood and adult.
The actual reason they did this was so you could be Chief. Obviously that doesn’t apply anymore since he is an established character with established features, personalty and history.
-Yoink- faceless protagonists.
If you have ever read any of the books he is describe kinda funny. He sounds a little goofy looking as a kid. Gap between his teeth with freckels. Which sounds like a lot of kids growing up. But I highly doubt they will do this. It takes the player out of the fantasy of being the Chief.
They won’t. Believe me, 343i knows that a faceless hero allows the player to “become” the character. It’s why you don’t see MC, the Rookie, or Noble 6 in any of the Halos. This will be no different.
Even if they made the fault of showing his face (again, they won’t), it would happen in Halo 6, not Halo 4. There’s no need to worry about it here and now.
Indeed this was the original reason, but allow me to correct myself. After Halo 2, and during the development of Halo 3 they stated in a Bungie update that he and his helmet became a sort of “icon.” They wanted to keep him as an icon even though his personality and such were revealed.

I hope they don’t show it in Halo 4. That would just be plain stupid… Now Halo 6… If it was truly the last Halo where we would play as the Chief, I would be fine with that. Otherwise, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Only when we will LAST see Chief should they do this. Though the part about people “becoming” him is a bit off considering that you do hear him speak, but I do suppose some people have good imaginations. Anyways, if they do it in Halo 4… That will make me a saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad panda…
