Don't remove sprint!

343! Please don’t listen to the verbal minority. Don’t make the same mistake you made with Halo 5! I loved and enjoyed Halo 4, and sure it had it’s issues and all but it was still one of my favourite games in the universe!

But you guys listened to the verbal minority from the Halo 4 days and now look at all the hate from Halo 5. You guys did a great job with Halo 4 and if you just evolved that than I’m pretty sure you’d have my wallet right now!

Keep up the great work! And hopefully we’ll get to see a more Halo 4 like game for Halo 6! All the best from a Veteran Fan.

Use the Sprint Discussion Thread.

I agree man, i love sprint. Most of the things people complain about is unnecessary, i mean you have the same tools as everyone else, learn and use them. They’re there for you to out maneuver and outsmart other players.

Personally, I like sprint. Especially in Campaign, Firefight, and Big Team Battle. But I could do without in pretty much every other game mode. You don’t need it on small maps.

We definitely don’t need Spartan Charge, which combined with the motion tracker range being too short, leads to a lot of random and frustrating deaths. Ground Pound is fun on occasion, but I could live without it.

Thruster Pack is okay, but Evade would make more sense; I’m pretty sure the thrusters on MJOLNIR armor are meant for maneuvering in zero-G conditions like in space, and the only problem with Evade in Halo: Reach was it’s poor traction that allowed people to pull off some insane jumps… or catapult themselves off the side of the map by accident. If they fixed that, then it would be better than Thruster Pack.

This is more of a personal letter as opposed to joining the Debate.

Ahem

Lol @ all of the wannabe moderators…

I feel ya man… Sprint plays decent overall in H5 and I enjoy some of the additional elements it has brought on when it’s tied in with certain Spartan Abilities.

I can go either way about sprint.

Not a discussion. A letter. Not a place to be debated. And 343 doesn’t sift through trillions of comments.

Agree, they ruined Halo 5 by removing everything they had done right with the story in Halo 4, if they remove sprint it would be exactly the same but with multiplatyer, removing everything Halo 5 did right with the MP in Halo 6, and would get worse Halo instead of improving it.

As long as you have an agenda behind sending the letter, it classifies as “discussion.” This goes into the thread, like every other sprint-related topic. Whether or not 343i sees it doesn’t matter. If you want them to see it, either post it in the appropriate thread (they actually do read what goes on in the mega-threads) or send them a letter in the mail.

I have no time to be an official moderator. It’s often taken by college, work, or my social life (I’m running out of time for that, too). However, if we allow duplicate topics to flourish, it makes discussion a nightmare, and makes archiving complicated. It’s for the sake of the forums, not ourselves.

Monitor? I’m only 17 man and when I first joined waypoint last Christmas i was 16. I don’t think a 16-17 year old should be a monitor at all. That’s a terrible idea. Hell it still probably would be a terrible idea for me to be a monitor even when I am 18. Too much responsibility to put on a stupid inexperienced kid.

SPRINT IS EVOLUTION ! xD

The vocal minority…u realize the thousands that stopped playing Halo games were a big chunk, maybe those who still oppose are the minority, but we are the ones who for some reason are going down with the ship, while 343 appeased the fans like you who think that everything done by 343 is a godsend
And who did 343 listen to when it comes to changes from 4 to 5? You still have sprint, you rename armor abilities spartan abilities and make everyone have them…if u think perks, ordinances, and permanent camo and promethean vision is halo, then u must’ve grown up with cod

I think he was referring more to multiplayer, not story

I genuinely disagree with you.

Sure, H4 was fun but was so irrelevant when it came to the competitive scene due to it not being built on the basic components of the original trilogy. I think we can agree that when a game is competitive and has esports presence, it tends to be more popular. You could argue that it is not how competitive a game is but how fun it is to play that makes it good, but that’s another arguement for another thread.

Examples of what made H4 non-competitive include; adding loadouts (need I remind you of promethean vision or the mini-shotgun A.K.A Boltshot?), ordenance drops, un-punishable sprint (in contrast to H5’s which resets shield recharge).

As for your point on H5 being received badly, that is nothing new to the Halo community and happened with the release of the fan-favorite, H3 (check metacritic player reviwes to see for yourself). It does not mean much as there will always be a minority who hate certain aspects of the game and be vocal about it. This doesn’t mean that the game is bad, neither does it mean that the complaints are right or wrong.

I would like to end my post with a question:
What made H5’s initial sales the worst among the franchise while H4 sold pretty good.[1],[2]

[1] Halo 5
[2] Halo 4

Well halo 4 was coming off of halo reach odst and 3 which for the most part were well liked games while halo 5 was following halo 4 which drove away alot of halo fans
