343 don’t make the map way to big like the size or Red Dead 2 or a Far Cry or Just Cause. Make it like GTA San Andreas or Red dead 1. Just don’t make it to big like GTA San Andreas make it where there are three big areas aka big forerunner towers like the one Chief blows up and add some small places like fortress where you kill big bosses. And like red dead 1 lock off a place from the player with something blocking them, in rdr1 case add a river and add parts that the horse can’t jump and he can’t swim like Chief I mean he could but would drown. And add aa guns and if someone does call a peil in to bring them over there have it get blow up by a aa gun. And add a Island that is like the home base and have to take a boat or underwater ship. Just don’t make it to big.
I’m not sure it’s going to be that big. From the looks of it, it seems to be a larger version of ODST to me (just not as limited in your options).
The map is semi-open world - I think it’ll be divided into 3 or 4 areas of the larger ring section. I can’t see it being absolutely massive but it’ll probably be something decent to get lost in.
at this point every developer should know open world maps are better when they’re smaller with interesting locations packed closer together instead of large and sprawling with little to do.
RDR2’s map size was excellent. There was so much that filled in the gaps that made it worth exploring and getting to know the areas. If 343 takes the same level of care as Rockstar did for RDR2, then a big open world would be great.

Don’t want no short short MAP
Don’t want no short short MAP
Don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t
Don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t
Don’t want, don’t want, don’t want, don’t want

I hope they don’t make the map too small either. A lot of Halo’s iconic vehicle sections take up a pretty large chunk of space and I hope we get some vehicular action in the campaign besides the occasional vehicle drop to roam around in. That’s actually a bit of a fear I have about the open world in that I hope there is still space for those grand albeit somewhat linear large-scale battle sequences with vehicles blowing each other up as they push through canyons and fields.
