Don't Like It, Don't Play It

We all know it’s the most stupid thing to say when someone loves this franchise but doesn’t like the latest game.

what would happen if the people who didn’t like Halo anymore, instead of trying the game out, WOULD ACTUALLY STOP PLAYING HALO?

> Sales drop
> -Yoink!- interest in Halo drops
> 343 gets no money
> Halo dies

So why don’t you, the people on the forums, stop bashing each other with nonsense like don’t like it don’t play it or it’s 343s game or saying the game is already good and doesn’t need change, and start being not so close minded and actually think about how what a person says could improve this game.

I for one, feel left out as a competitve player but am sick of being told that I should play for fun, but playing competitive is my fun. because a casual player can like a competitve game, but a competive player cannot enjoy a casual game(CE, 2 & 3).

thoughts?

I can’t get myself to play it anymore. It’s been at least 2-3 weeks. Just not my kind of game. Doesn’t hold my interest. Feels too simple.

I come to the forums in hope of a hail marry TU with loads of custom game options to, at the very least, allow my friends and I to keep playing CTF. I will NEVER like and do my best to never spend any time in MM. Load outs and no set weapon spawns are game breakers for me. Just not interesting.

“Dont like it, dont play it”

Okay, then give me my money back.

Halo will never die. You know that, I know that, and Microsoft knows that. There will always be people who want to play Halo simply because of the fact that it’s a Halo game. It doesn’t matter if Halo is bastardized to hell and becomes more and more like Call of Duty with each new game, there will always be a large portion of people who will buy it.

@ jefe

that’s not the point. I am talking about this forum.
many many people keep saying things like don’t like don’t play. if people really stopped, Halo would lose M$s interest and wouldn’t be made anymore. if people cannot voice their opinion without things like don’t like it don’t play it being thrown around and would actually listen, Halo 5 would lose a lot of sales. Halo 4 is not compatible for the entire community, which is pretty bad. so if H5 would have bad sales, -Yoink!- could, even though already announced, still scrap Halo 6.

people’s opinions should be listened to, instead of “oh the game is fine to me, so your opinion doesn’t matter, go play a different game”.

do you get my post now, jefe?

You played for 3 days and 2 hours. Sounds like you pretty much liked the game.

I feel left out of the community and I feel as I no longer belong to it anymore, theres nothing anyone can do about it though, problem probably just lies with me.

I haven’t played since 2 or 3 days after launch and I have no plans to do so any time soon.

I also have no plans to buy another Halo game, unless it’s a remake of Halo 2 and it’s a carbon copy with updated graphics and it’s own multiplayer, but I doubt that’s going to happen.

Halo is dead.

The people who say that are hurting the series more than anybody. We are all Halo fans and wouldn’t be here if we weren’t. There are hundreds of other games to play but we want Halo to be great again because we love the franchise. Problem is its completely abandoned its roots and there are still too many people who can’t admit there is a single problem with this game.

Try reading the post first, lol.

You know you can trade in games for money, right? Either do that or try Ebay.

What you say is true. you basically summed it up.

This seems like as good a place as any to voice my thoughts on Halo 4. I agree with the original poster that the “don’t like it, don’t play it” response to criticism is useless. I don’t have any hope that 343 (which I’ll use as a substitute for profanity below) will “fix” Halo 4. But maybe they’ll work a little harder on Halo 5. Anyway, here goes:

Aim assist sucks! I hate it, and have since the first Halo. If I wanted to aim at the grunt that just walked in front of the elite I was trying to snipe, I would have done it myself. Why the 343 can’t I turn that off? I’m not sure, but hasn’t there always been an option to turn that useless 343 off? 343 you, 343!

Lag. Holy 343, it’s unbelievable! What the 343 have 343 been doing?

Master Chief is faceless. You 343holes showed his face! What the 343 were you thinking?

Thank you for getting rid of the drones. But I actually liked working with elites and having separate characters for player 1 and 2 in Halo 3. And you never explained why we were fighting elites again. Were they simply religious extremists, or is it the whole group again? Seriously, Chief now acts like a person, for some reason known only to 343, but isn’t curious in the least about that? And neither is Cortana?

4-player co-op on campaign is nice. Don’t know if this is the first Halo to offer it, but I like it.

Spartan Ops is OK. Since it’s a bonus, I’m not going to nitpick… except to say, “343 you, you mother343ers!” You 343holes had a 343ing watcher UNDER the 343ing map! I couldn’t complete that chapter because of that! (Episode 2, chapter 1) I do like being able to use my Spartan in a campaign-style game.
(Oh, my buddy expressed similar feelings about the same 343ing thing happening to him on that level.)

By the end of the game, I hated Cortana. No, that’s not right. I 343ING HATED Cortana! Holy 343! She got seriously annoying in this game. Which carried on the theme from Halo 3, with those flashbacks that interrupted the game.

Checkpoints. Good 343ing God, it’s not like these are a new concept. Here are some hints: after a bunch of bad343 mother343ers, before the next big scary 343hole comes along, let me have a checkpoint. After something time-consuming but not all that difficult that you know I’m not going to want to have to do again and again just because you had to have the extra dozen bad guys in the room after it, give me a checkpoint. AFTER Cortana says something you know I don’t want to hear over and over and over and over and over, rather than right before that.

Humans? The great enemy was humans? Whose fault was that? Is that even 343’s fault? If so, 343 you, 343!

You showed me the Forerunners, who call themselves Forerunners? Some mysteries are better as mysteries. And yes, I know he was speaking with human language and used the human word for them.

What else? Hmm… why didn’t I get credit for the Fully Automated challenge until the next day?

Why is the gauss-hog unanswered on Exile’s Big Team Infinity Slayer? Balance it! Need proof of it being broken? I’m sure there are plenty of videos on youtube. Give red team one too.

I miss playing custom games. Why not give us a matchmaking option for custom games? Surely there would be some people willing to take a chance and try a random custom game that someone sets up and opens for whoever comes. And give me back the kill in order option!

Oh, how could I forget?! 343 you, 343! That comes from me and a LOT of other people, too. Where the 343 is 343ing King of the Hill? You consolidated two slayers (pro and standard) into just one, so the slot’s freed up, bring back KOTH. It’s bull343 to make it so it’s impossible for my buddy who doesn’t have anymore to spend on the map pass after paying for a year of Live to play this game. I should be able to play KOTH with him. He works in a gaming store, BTW. A lot of gaming store employees probably play your game. Plus they listen to gamers who are shopping in their stores. Is it good to have them 343ed off at you and telling customers how much you suck? Not a huge dent in your bottom line, but every little bit, right?

Sorry for making this post so long, but I’m still annoyed by this game failing to live up to its potential.

Cool story bro.

Yeah I don’t like multiplayer and I don’t play - doing my part to reduce the online population and make 343 sit up and start to address the many problems with this game.

Instead of patting 343’s back for a job well done and pushing for no improvement in my favorite franchise.

Its called spurring someone on, a spur is a sharp device on the back of a riding boot you dig into a horse to make it go faster - it hurts get over it.

> Cool story bro.

Did you really have to do that?

OP is right. That’s the responsibility of a consumer in a captialist economy: If you dislike the product or service, discontinue patronage.

As much as I complain about certain things (DMR/Boltshot mainly), I still like this game, and in fact like it more than the others for a lot of reasons. So while I’m sorry for you guys who dislike it, I don’t feel sympathy for you if you keep playing.

So wait… people are actually voting for “If you don’t like it, play it?”

That, makes no sense.

I’d rather not like a game and continue to play in hopes that the developers actually fix and update it in the future.

Its the weakest Halo game to be launched, its not a complete game, I have hope that when the time is taken to address the common and apparent issues the game has, being content relate or balancing or other issues and concerns, it will be a better game and the “Halo” game its suppose to be.

For all that I dislike, I do like certain parts of the game, such as teh Campaign and Spartan OPs and the Spartan customization and the weapons (specifically the forerunner weapons).

While “Don’t like it, Don’t play it” to me will fly with other games like Assassins Creed 3, where its singleplayer (while with a great story line) lacks features from previous titles and rewardst the player very little for their efforts and its more multiplayer (while fun) is a pain in the -Yoink- because of balancing issues and matchmaking issues (it sucked to be a new player in that game to get matched up with prestidged players); Halo is a different type of game.

While this is the first Halo to need alot of improvements across the board, its a Halo game with potential and all the Halo games before Halo 4 were great.

> While this is the first Halo to need alot of improvements across the board, its a Halo game with potential and all the Halo games before Halo 4 were great.

lol… the first halo to need a lot of improvements?

Really?

Well okay. I guess if you ignore all the other Halo’s besides Halo CE and H3 that might be true.
