We all know that casual gamers are the majority of players in the Halo 4 population. Which means 343 has to cater to the population that provides the most money, that’s a business.
Now you have the minority of players that seem to not have “fun” anymore, no Slayer pro playlists, no huge incentive to continue to play the game anymore etc… but the thing is you have already bought the game!
Since you cant rely on 343 to help cater to us minority population we just have to find a way to get our money worth.
My solution: CHALLENGE YOURSELF!
Yeah you may be SR 130 with a 15.00+ K/D ratio, Mr. Badass over here, but there is always a way to improve your experience.
A solution is to think of the most ridiculous matchmaking challenge to do. For example: Don’t use any power ups, power weapons, ordnance, support and tactical upgrades that don’t pertain to the game or don’t help you at all. All while running around trying to get a 360 plasma pistol shot, melee kill. Again, Mr. Badass.
The challenge is only limited to your skill and mind.
But don’t forget about those friendly Convenant lads that you have been fighting since Halo CE. Maybe since you are a SR 130 15.00+ K/D ratio Badass you should take a chill pill on matchmaking and work on Spartan OPS and Campaign.
Again while doing Spartan OPS or Campaign push yourself to complete some of the most ridiculous challenge you can think of. (Beat the campaign on Mythic difficulty only using a secondary weapon and walking backwards)
Now-a-days since the casual gamers have taken over, you cannot rely upon 343 to entertain you. You have to make your money’s worth over this game.
Food for thought. Thanks.
If 343 were smart, they would release a “Halo 4 Pro” version as a companion download for like $10. You can’t please everyone, but you could at least please more.
I’m competitive and I love Halo 4…
I agree, and Im not Ogre3. Im a random and like closed games.
> I’m competitive and I love Halo 4…
Don’t get me wrong I am not addressing all competitive players. I’m addressing the ones that continue to complain about the skill level, no incentive to play the game and offer no solutions besides complaining to 343 to fix it.
These players have a brain, maybe a little less than that, but enough of one to think of a way to entertain themselves.
> We all know that casual gamers are the majority of players in the Halo 4 population.
No they’re not, where the hell would you get that statistic? I can’t even remember the last time I actually played with or against a “casual” player.
sigh
This “casual” complaining will never stop.

Of course there aren’t any facts, but the amount of gamers that play on what could universally be considered a “casual” basis outweighs those who play competitively. It’s just a given based on these arbitrary definitions of casual and competitive.

Maybe on the Wii they do. Even then they rarely play it, or games in general.
and STOP thinking that the world is black and white, it’s not a simple split between “casual” and “competitive”.

Are you sure about that? Most objective games i play, my team mates don’t bother to go after it.
Haven’t people been coming up with their own challenges for video games for years? I remember going through Halo: CE on legendary without picking up any new weapons. I also remember playing Doom 1 on nightmare using only the pistol.

The ONLY problem with what you propose is that the people you are talking to will not do anything UNLESS they get something for it. They are not interested in a personal challenge. This is why they won’t play unless they get rank, especially if it is “skill” based, and this is why they stop playing if they hit the daily cap. They say they’re great players, but how many have met the SLASO challenge? Few.

Its more of a split between those who liked halo 3 more and those who liked reach more.
(Guess who got catered to more in halo 4?)

The people who like Halo 3. I dislike all the stepbacks they did from Reach.
Casuals will always defend the Halo that isn’t competitive.
i.e. Reach, H4. Put them in a competitive environment and they’d be scurrying back to their Kinect games. I still support the argument that Casual Gamers are KILLING gaming.
> I still support the argument that Casual Gamers are KILLING gaming.
i love this quote seeing as how “casuals” are the ones supporting the gaming community the most buying whatever games are new or shiny. without them you would have never seen the boom in halo. sure there were quite a bit who played is seriously however it became mainstream due to the casuals who went out in force to buy the new games.
Entertain OURSELVES in a game? What is this, 2004?
Looks like someone brought it back to life…

So much wrong right there. Pay them to get pleased?! Why pay more to something you’re not pleased to start out with?
Oh wait, posted like, 2 months ago. My bad.
