Don't even bother playing Warzone if You're a Noob

Just tried to play WZ today. Was immediately destroyed by BR’s DMR’s and power weapons.

Should I grind it out, or just drop WZ. Played for a few hours and am already bored with it.

UPDATE:

Just played some BTB.

Our team lost 92-100

MVP on the other team went 32-8.

He’s also a SR 96.

How am I supposed to compete with that?

Starting to think this game isn’t for me.

It depends on why you’re playing it. Are you playing it just for the higher REQ points? Are you trying to understand the gametype? Are you usually a BTB kind of person? Some other reason? My answer would depend on why you’re playing it.

just play arena, warzone sucks and get really dull after a while anyway

Got dropped in to a game in progress on the losing side i’m guessing because otherwise it takes a while for DMR’s and the more annoying power weapons to arrive. Yeah, that can be rough but thats life in an online game mode. But just like arena, some games are going to be fun and some are going to be stomps. The very basic req i’d say you need in WZ is any BR but honestly the magnum will do for most situations.
As a general advice i’d say that if a game mode proves constantly frustrating then it is in your interest to play other modes. I’m not saying that WZ is “noob unfriendly” per se, but the way those matches play is vastly different from arena matches and not everyone is going to like them. Less a question of skill and more a question of what kind of modes you like.

Tbh I’m Sr 144 it only fun if you have alot of things unlocked… I would wait until you’re spartan rank atleast 80 to try WZ for all its glory and mayhem

Eh, i think it’s pretty decent.

This wouldn’t be a problem if there were any social playlists… Warzone was social and relatively fun before everyone had good stuff and a certain armor came out…

Play wz assault. You’ll get a br real quick and your low req won’t hurt you.
Build up req and unlocks then hop in to wz.

Warzone would be infinitely better if it did away with REQ packs all together. Still worked the same in that you “buy” upgrades through your levels during a match, and no crazy over the top weapons that are seriously overpowered versions of the originals.

It may surprise you to know that I also started out as a noob, before I got to SR 148. I also didn’t have a BR or DMR. Everyone starts out like that. But I kept playing as I found it fun and eventually got my BR, plus various other weapons and vehicles that were fun to try out.

Should you grind it? No, I hate that term. If you’re not enjoying something then don’t play it. We go to work to “grind” for money, whereas gaming time is supposed to be fun. I didn’t grind for anything in Warzone, I enjoy playing the game. I’d suggest that if you don’t like it, try another gametype. You’ll still earn REQ points either way, so you can maybe come back to Warzone when you find it more enjoyable.

Other than BTB, Warzone is the only ‘normal’ game type that isn’t very competitive imo.
Unless you play against a squad, its pretty much fine, even for noobs.
Just saying that its a great way to learn the game mechanics if you’re not interested in playing the campaign.

But when you started everyone was a low level and noone (or very few people) had good req. So it was kind of “fair”.
Nowadays, when a new player comes he doesn’t even have a BR or a good powerweapon so I can understand why He is sad.
And since you are SR148, I assume you have unlocked all the req and can buy a gold pack anytime for only 4000 RP (and yet you will get boost and sell some cards, so it costs less than 4000). So how is it fair for a “noob player” to come in warzone and fight against good skill players with a tons of good reqs ?

And just to be clear, I mean no offense to you, just saying that a SR10 has no chance against a SR140+

Says the guy wearing that armor.

Actually other people had BRs and DMRs before me, and I played a lot more arena than WZ. But you get a BR very quickly, doesn’t take long at all. You get gungooses, ghosts, carbines etc all quite easily. And you can always pick up weapons that other people have dropped… should be plenty of BR and DMRs lying around, plus the occasional power weapon.

It only starts to make a big difference in the later game, when the Banshee Ultra’s, Nornfangs etc start rolling out. If you’re on the losing side then, it’s gonna suck. Expect to be killed a lot. I’ve had some crazy killstreaks with both of those, they’re great fun to use but not so much fun for the people that don’t have them, or don’t have the weaponry to take them down.

As others have suggested, maybe try playing Warzone Assault. You’ll earn more RP per hour, and it’s a bit more friendly for newcomers.

I agree, I’m SR 146 and have spent far to many hours there

Everyone starts at the bottom. I have had games with that retrieving data error, no access to read and have done quite well. WZ is fun for me.

I’m not a noon or a try hard yet it’s easy to stop being farmed.

That was beyond unnecessary. What does that armor have to do with anything? My company, The Filthy Casuals, has it and we are the farthest thing from farmers as you can get.

It can be very discouraging for new players even though it is suppose to be for casual players. You basically have to learn how to play and how the individual maps are played. that’ could take between 10 and 20 games. After that, it can be a lot of fun or incredibly frustrating. When your team gets totally reked, its best just to laugh it off and just move on to the next match. Matchmaking can be very onesided which causes blowout matches. But when you are on the winning side, its loads of fun.

play assault til you unlock at a minimum; a few BRs, a lvl 6 req DMR, and a few anti vehicle power weapons.
