Why should you not buy req packs with real money? The answer is simple. If you buy req packs with real money you will get every permanent req card faster and it will not give you the same reward as buy earning req points by playing the game.
Why do you buy req packs? You wnt to unlock a certain armor piece for your Spartan or a shiny weapon skin to show that you have played the game. Otherwise you aim for a Loadout weapon or a rare power weapon. You will feel very happy when you get what you want but when you buy your req packs with real money you will not get the same reward. You will instead feel that it’s is a waste of time to play the game when it’s is a easier and faster way to get your most wanted req card. And it’s also important that you don’t want to get every permanent req card the first month after the game release buy buying them. When you have no permanent req cards left to unlock the game will not feel as fun to play. You will have nothing to aim for to complete.
Disadvantages to buy req cards with real money:
The game will not feel as fun to play (why should I play when I have everything) - Nothing to aim for to unlock - You will not get the same feeling when you unlock ‘‘most wanted req card’’
They’re a complete rip-off with real money anyway. Considering it only takes about 3 warzone games to get a gold pack i have no idea why anyone would spend loads of money on this game.
Well if no one bought Req Packs with IRL money, we might not have gotten the free DLC not to mention not everybody has the time to play Halo consistently so they buy Req Packs with real money so they can get the rewards at a faster rate because they can’t dedicate as much time to the game as others.

You see OP, different people play games for different reasons. A good example would be you and I. I think just playing the game is fun. I never log on so I can unlock stuff. You on the other hand get burnt out and have a difficult time enjoying the game if their’s nothing left for you to unlock. Then, there are some people who know they won’t be playing Halo 5 long enough to unlock everything, but would still like to have as many unlocks as they can get.
I guess the moral of the story is to not be too presumptuous about what motivates other people. What is good for you may not be somebody else’s cup of tea.

Yeah, but the fanatical devotion people have to the chance to spend money on the chance to get certain things is odd. Hell, I’ve seen people be called spoiled and entitled because they want to earn armors and skins in-game, notably for clearing Legendary, by people who like REQ packs, That is bad logic.

I think if the armors could have been obtained with both achievements and REQ points directly while leaving the weapons and vehicles in REQ packs, that could have mitigated much of the backlash.
It wouldn’t be perfect, but I think it would be better.

This. I don’t plan on using real money but I don’t care if someone else does. Specially when that some is stoping me from having to pay for season passes.
A lot of halos fanbase is a lot older now with families and ishh. Not every one has time to grind for REQ points in warzone.
Younger crowd = less money to spend but more time
Older crowd =more money less time.
Don’t assume everyone buying them are lazy . And even if they were lazy , unless you’re their financial advisor mind your own wallet.
Someone made a thread while back about not having other vices. 60$ on over prices alcohol (ciroc I’m looking at you lol in Canada at least) of 30 gold packs. TO EACH HIS OWN
Its not that I disagree with you about the feeling of getting something you have played hard to get, but you can’t tell other people how to spend thier money. I would guess some people do not get to play as much as they like and being able to purchase reqs means they do not feel like they are falling behind on loadout/power weapon etc options. If that is what they chose to do, that is thier choice (also if they do not play as much as most then they are unlikly to run out of stuff to unlock any way). And if the money made from selling reqs means 343 feel they can put out free maps and modes then why complain, no one is making you buy them.

The only reason I need is because I already paid for the game, and that is content that is already on the disc, so I’m not gonna pay for something I already own.
