Get it early and you realize you can’t play it because you’ll bet banned. It’s like sitting there in front of the tree on Christmas Eve, you know it’s right there but you can’t do anything with it.

Translation: I stole a copy of Halo 4 for Walmart and got banned because 343 hates its fans. I stole it legit, I got all of the security tags off too. Penalize the retailer for not having stricter security not me.

Firstly, 343i doesn’t ban people, Microsoft does.
Secondly, 343i devs (like Josh Holmes), have said on their Twitter that people who have the game legitimately should be fine, so long as they have their receipt.
this is because no retailers are legally permitted to sell the game prior to the Nov 6 midnight release.
Essentially, I imagine legit copy’s that microsoft doesn’t know about (i.e. non-reviewers) will get bans if they cannot prove they are legit. Once microsoft has a legit receipt number, they will likely unban that person and take up action with the retailer who sold the copy early.
This all makes complete sense, so I wish people ould stop exaggerating this issue (along with 90% of the other stuff in these forums).

The guys at Machinima just got their console banned. It’s not 343 its not Microsoft its Xbox Live themselves. Quit accusing 343.

That’s not really an excuse though… It’s christmas eve in your comparison, still not christmas day when everyone opens their presents.

Shut up. Please, please shut up. It’s not 343i banning people, it’s Microsoft, and they don’t hate their customers. It’s possible it’s a stupid bot that’s doing the banning, or a moronic employee and poor policy choice; your hyperbole doesn’t help anyone.

I hope this doesn’t affect me, I’m in Australia and we get the game 18 hours before certain parts of America due to the time difference.
