It’s all because of the content drought. There’s literally nothing else to go on BUT toy release news. I think just about everyone understands that a toy company is not making the creative decisions for the franchise. But most people do understand that Mega Construx is closely partnered with 343 to release toys in conjunction with their game. So it’s not too far fetched to assume the toys might be somewhere in the ballpark of what will be released in the game.
Finally another individual who understands what “grain of salt” means. I’ve been replying to people for awhile now about this, but it seems the mindset of “toy leak=CoMfIrMeD NeWs” is spreading about the same as this pandemic.
I get taking it with a grain of salt, but they deleted all of the pictures. just look at it one of two ways, it’s your choice! (This does not apply to the -Yoink!- leaks, just the toys)
- They are real spoilers and that’s why they were taken down.
- They were not real or they were misleading so they took them down so people don’t get false information.
We speculate because option 1 sounds more fun! At least to me it does! But of course, time will tell and I really hope these leaks are true! If my guess is wrong, it wouldn’t ruin things for me. I’m along for the ride and will enjoy what I get from 343. (not fanboying I just am not super picky with my Halo games, I’ve enjoyed 'em all)

My concerns are more towards the people who might not see it that way and might be agitated at the game for “false advertising” over toys. It may be a tad silly to worry over that but based on the general behavior of some people in the community it wouldn’t surprise me to see this mindset show up after launch if the leaks weren’t true. Personally though I entirely agree with your view on things.
One thing I will say about the toys and why I’ve taken some of the reveals as concrete news is that while having the Halo Infinite branding on it doesn’t actually mean it’s gonna be in Infinite, if I’m seeing something that’s a completely new design, not seen in any of the games thus far, then it’s very likely that this is something from Infinite.
The new banished looking hunter that’s coming with the pelican toy? Eh, looks like the 343 hunter with banished colours. Take with a grain of salt.
Toys of Kat and Tanaka, plus some random Spartans in Reach armour? Grain of salt. Could just be throwback toys. (Though my bets on multiplayer skins).
The new Elite, Jackal, Grunt and marines shown at the toy fair? Completely new designs. Definitely in Infinite.
If you look at every toy reveal you see, then there’s definitely reason for wild speculation and assuming things are gonna be in the game. Just not all of it.
