Done with Halo 4

Hello y’all!

Yup, another ragequit thread.

So, just wanted to check the new challenges, hopped into Big Team. Of course, turned out to not be Infinity Slayer, which I wanted to play, that’s why I chose the playlist in the first place.
Needless to say, first player quit at the start of the game. One of my guys. No prob, was Ragnarok, always loved that map and always been quite potent with it.
Then, the game continued. Let’s cut it short here, some minutes later, only three of us were left. Against two Banshees, two Mantisses and several Ghost. Without Stickies and the like, no Infinity Slayer, remember?
Game went extremely long (shooting three people takes some while), eventually there were just the two of us left. Join in progress? Nope. Not one single player joined the whole game.
Went -15, every time I preyed upon infantry, I got ripped to shreds by some vehicle. And random power weapons.

Well, I don’t know where to start. I guess, the story stands for its own.
What I’m so mad about is that 343i informed me of some objective playlist update but the real issues, that are well-known, just don’t get fixed.
That’s the last drop of water into an already overflowing barrel. I defended 343’s failed game for introducing new features, but it’s quite obvious there’s no point in defending it any more.

What now?
I’mma get my hands on a H3 copy. MS lied to us (or intentionally left us unclear) about free H3, but selling my H4 copy gains me the money for H3. Just as the former did the reverse thing back half a year.
I mean, there is no justification for H4. SpOps sucks, Campaign is a joke, there really is only MP and it’s broken and 343 refuse to fix it.
Halo 5? No, thanks!

By now, this thread will probably be locked because it’s “non-constructive”. Yeah, as if the opinion of a Day-One-Die-Hard-Halo-Fan is unimportant enough to be locked. 343 just can’t handle negative feedback. Obvious, or they would fix some stuff.
I plead you players to read this stuff anyway, please. It’s a bit lengthy, my apologies.
Read it, agree/disagree, follow me to H3 or don’t. But please do! (^_^)

Let me get this straight, I really tried to cling to this new Halo as long as I could, but if I’m sick of my all-time favorite map Valhalla (ALWAYS liked games on it, every single Halo!), it’s a clear indicator for me to leave.
My conclusion is that Halo’s ruined (yup, had to come, didn’t it? ^_- ). Like F.E.A.R. or GoW, Halo now just is a shadow of the past. Still incinerates my brain how the most prominent console franchise with the most powerful electronics corporation behind it could fail so hard.

Final words:
Well, I thank you for taking your time to read this exhausting wall of text.
Feel free to share thoughts!
Hopefully see you on The Pit and Valhalla!

Cortana: Halo… It’s finished.
John-117: Yes, it is.

we need you bby

bby come back

Welcome to the club. I left a couple months ago. Reach is still fun. H3 is fun but all you can really play is slayer and its pretty laggy.

I know that, too.
H3 back in the days was often a pain because of lag. One of the ups for H4, never experienced real lag here.
But anyway, my connection has gotten stronger. And even if it’s not sufficient, I’ll take it as it is. I know what’s lag and can deal with it. still better than H4, imo.
Also, if I don’t want to play MP, I can just play the awesome campaign instead!
Win-Win!

Why are you mad at Pro not having stickies off spawn? Halo 3 didn’t have Stickies off spawn, more overpowered vehicles, and spawn weapons that did next to no damage to them.

Welp, this thread gets locked, sure, but do take note it wasn’t edited. Negative opinions are fine, good-bye letters to Halo are not.

I stopped playing H4 multiplayer or Co-Op on June 2. Despite all the the back end tuning stuff they have dome (some i don’t’ like, some I did), the 0.5 to 5 seconds of Lag in 70% of the H4 WarGames finally ended it for me. It’s just no fun to try and play H4 with lag and there is zero indication that 343 will ever add in the Filters that Reach, H3 and other titles have to improve things.

For my Halo Fix multiplayer it’s Halo Reach - which has around 25,000 to 30,000 daily playing still after 3+ years. I can always find a BTB game (even using the best connection filter option) in a few minutes despite having around 1,500 to 2,500 people in the BTB lobby. Game play is balanced and maybe 5% of my Reach BTB games have the lag issues that H4 has. None of the other multiplayer titles I play have issues like H4 does either - so this is an H4 issue not my connection.

So unless 343 adds users selectable filters (Best connection, local only for starters) and solves the horrible host selection process:

to help address the lag issues, then I will never play H4 multiplayer. I may play H4 Campaign or Spartan Ops single player (I enjoyed them) , but multiplayer is dead to me. This will definitely affect my decision on buying H5 and an Xbox One too in 2014 and I have lost faith that 343i knows or cares what it is doing.
