Absolutely not, it destroys all games. Call of Duty altered its entire future to fit the needs of Warzone, CoD Vanguard is nothing but a weapon leveling sim for Warzone. Fortnite’s gameplay is controversial with its community obnoxious and its development an obvious money grab. This is not to say that all BR’s are bad, Apex Legends is a fun game designed independently for only PVP BR with no other design in mind. A Halo Battle Royale simply wouldn’t work because it would cause the developers to shift to the F2P multiplayer instead of expanding the Halo Universe via the Paid Campaigns.

No. I don’t want a BR. I want something new, possibly like a survival/forge combo mode something like Ark but well designed and Halo. BR is played out, it’s overrated and overhyped. Let’s ask for something genuinely new to Shooters shall we?

I’m not a fan of BRs in general, but if I want to play one, I’ll go play Warzone or PUBG or something. So my short answer is no. I absolutely do not want 343i to spend any resources on developing a BR. That being said, if for some unknown reason they do put one out… I’d most likely play it. At least a few matches here and there, but it would never be my “go-to” Halo game choice, and I’d most likely be a bit salty, because it would pull population from the modes I enjoy, increasing matchmaking times.

I’m certainly not a “battle royal bad” kind of person, and I wouldn’t mind it as a game mode. Right now they have much more important things to put resources into though.
Plus, we’ve seen leaks of scripting capability in forge, so once forge launches we might get some pretty baller BR gametypes made by the community!

The game would honestly be perfect for a battle royale, I don’t see why not. Drop down in life pods, have all the vehicles and weaponry scattered across the map. I think Halo BR could be a complete masterpiece if done right and genuinely could take over the scene. Plus it would open the game up to a wider audience. Just like COD MP, the arena shooter genre is sadly and slowly kind of dying unfortunately… However, as others stated above - BRs can be the death of games and modes you personally may enjoy.

Nobody cares about battle royale, go back to Fortnite.
Not every game needs a Battle Royale mode. Halo is not the game I go to for that experience. I am not interested in that for Halo at all.

My thoughts exactly. If they made maps large enough and gave people enough flexibility in custom games that someone could make it themselves, I wouldn’t mind. But 343 has a lot of other work to do.

While the idea of a BR is great, and Halo’s foundations have everything necessary for a BR (Shields, Health, Guns, Equipment, etc.), let the community handle it.
I’ve said this a lot Twitter and to my friends, if you let the community work on stuff like this, it’s a healthier alternative to the life span of the game. From Halo 3 it’s all about allowing the community to make the game’s life span. Not 343i (or Bungie).
Do I think it might be worth trying? Yes.
Do I think 343i needs to work on it right now? No.
I myself am someone who loves level design, but allow us to wait for forge and once that releases, it’s smooth sailing from there.
Also, we need more weapons, these weapons already feel so repetitive and boring to see.
