Dominion: Should be territories(not resupply)

Dominion: Halo 2 territories

Dominion is a cool gametype but i really wish it was like territories from
halo 2.

A team shouldn’t win if they only have one base when your team has 2 unless
the team with 1 base is already close to wining.

The game should be based on points per second or something based on how long you hold it plus it should go up faster or more if one team has more than 1 base.

Like if your holding a base for a minute then you get 20 points plus the points
you get in game. <mark>Resupplies shouldnt give you points only weapons.</mark>

So territories with supplies for holding the bases. The game would last way longer and a team would have to control 2 bases to win.

A team shouldn’t win based on resupply’s instead of actually controlling 2 bases.

Just turn the gametype into territories with supplies granted based on how long you hold it kinda like how it already is but not have the game won based on the
resupplies.

Does anyone else agree or do you think its fine how it is? Should a team win only having 2 bases compared to a team with 2?

The resupply should just be that nothing dealing with points. I think it would awesome if the kill points increased by 5 every base you control not points based on resupplies. It ends to fast in my opinion.

Its based on resupplies so when you have 2 bases and the enemy has 2 they can still when because they get tons of resupplies.

You can have 2 bases be down a lot and the team with 1 base can win because you have to wait for your resupplies before you get points while they keep getting them over and over.

I said it should be like territories from halo 2 for holding the bases not based

Honestly, the only thing that ruins Dominion for me is the players that sit at one base hoarding rockets and sniper. Resupplies shouldn’t give that many power weapons so often, I like the fact that it drops normal primaries, and those need to have much more priority than the power weapons.

I’m not sure if your proposals would actually change anything about Dominion.

Since a lot of people don’t seem to understand how the scoring system works, I’ll break it down.
-10 points for each capture
-30 points for every resupply
-First to 400 points wins
-Resupplies occur every 45 seconds after a base is captured

The way Dominion currently works makes for interesting tactical possibilities. Suppose you’re in a game that’s coming down to the wire, and you notice that one of your opponent’s bases has 20 seconds before its next resupply, while your only base has 30 seconds left. It’s possible for a good player/group to assault that base and initiate a capture, delaying the opposing team’s resupply timer for long enough for your base to resupply first, securing the victory.

It’s possibilities like that, in my eyes, make Dominion more interesting than modes like Domination in Call of Duty. If one thing needs to be change, I wouldn’t mind seeing the number of power weapons that spawn with each resupply toned down slightly. I like that you’re rewarded for map control with power weapons and useful equipment, but the sheer amount you get is a bit much.

if a team wins holding 1 base, it actually means they were holding 2 for the majority of the game, i think its fine as it is.

also we won a game of dominion in 58 seconds tonight, thats got to be close to a record time.
