I absolutly love Domination/Dominion in H4! It is my all time favorite mode outside of Mult-team CrazyKing. Single base Dominion was also a ton of chaotic fun.
I don’t hate strongholds, but it’s just a worse experience. Not being able to score points without having two bases makes the game too one sided. Each base needs to give a 1 point per second score. An additional point per second given to a team holding three bases. I also liked having to commit to activating a terminal which made planning attacks more important.
Considering BTB, a 5 base Dominion mode on large maps would be awesome. Vehicles, power weapons, turrets, etc spawning after holding a base for a set amount of time would be a nice touch. I would also toy with the idea of having other objectives on map such as terminals to activate or power cores/enemies to destroy.
H5 did this with warzone on a small scale. Instead of just adding score on completion of an objective, something would happen in game. Players would get speed boost or weapon etc for defeating a boss, bridges could be activated, gates opened, walls destroyed. Basically giving teams an advantage that they have to use instead of just points.
Simply put, there is a ton of objective mode possibilities available in Halo Infinite and I hope we aren’t limited to strongholds.

I don’t remember much of dominion in Halo 4, But it looks and sound a lot like, control in Destiny 2 crucible?
Correct me if I’m wrong.
I love Strongholds because you can make a comeback up to the very last second. Had a game of Team Arena we were losing 80-0, we came back and ended up losing 100-98 and we almost got the Stronghold to win it at the end too.
The whole team of random players were celebrating the comeback and near loss despite us losing and it was a great atmosphere. The other team were talking trash about us being bad, sad really that an Onyx player felt that was necessary when we were clearly on a vibe.
Guess some people can’t stand seeing others happy and no-one that game cared about losing their rank, it was a great game well fought and lost. How ranked should be.

No think of territory’s from H3-HR but with weapon and vehicle spawns if you own said base. And you can also reinforce your owned bases like R6S (Rainbow 6 Siege)
I was also a big fan of Dominion, and also Extraction from Halo 4. I think with larger teams and bigger maps, Dominion makes a lot of sense to return, and Extraction could have 3 nodes up at a time instead of 2, if 2 just feels too much like a cluster.
