Dominion forge problems

I am currently forging a big team battles map, I have set up every game type up but dominion and they all work perfectly.

When I was setting up dominion I came across these problems:

-Items from the dominion forge pallet alot of times cant be duplicated.

-Alot of the time items from the dominion forge pallet can’t be spawned in even thow my bugget was over half full and I havent used the maximum amount of that item on the map.

-When in custom games some items from the dominion forge pallet would disapear.

-When returning to forge after custom games testing items from the dominion forge pallet that were present in custom games would disapear in forge, still having the max count add up (eg. 7 sheild in custom games, 6 in forge, max count for sheilds says 6). When I returned to custom games the item would still be missing.

All want to know is am I the only one with this problem?

I hope this gets fixed soon so I can continue with my map.

You have likely hit the item category limit.

Odd…

Check the Run-Time Maximum value on any copy of that object, in its advanced settings. Is that value higher than the total number placed on the map?

Which Custom Games?

Did you set the objects to be gametype-specific? If so, did you make sure to give them a Dominion-related label that is not “NO_DOM”?

Perhaps they failed to spawn for some reason? Or perhaps they have de-rendered (become invisible, but still solid if they are solid normally)? EDIT: Modify the max count if necessary: make sure it is equal to the number actually placed on the map.

-of course I would put the custom game on dominion.

Weird.

Which specific objects, and where on the base map are they placed?

Np. Hope you manage to find fixes for it all.

  • I had one turret outside the base zones and one in. when I tried to place another or duplicate it wouldn’t let me. The turrets still functioned normally in custom games.

The place at start was set to true and it had one game type laabel set to dom_turret. The spawn sequence was coresponding with the base, game specific was true.

Is there an abnormally-large amount of objects (of any kind) on your map?

There are three limits in Forge, though only two are visible in-game: the budget, the per-category limits, and the global max. No matter how much budget you have left, and how far you are from hitting per-category limits, you cannot place more objects (of any kind) than the global max allows. Once you hit the global max, the spawning menus just stop working (Halo 3 also showed an error message; Reach didn’t; I don’t know if Halo 4 does).

This is easy to test: attempt to spawn any object of any kind, and if it works, then you’re under the global max.

I have 6 shields on the map under dominion. The map only is composed mostly of structire, little of natural map turain. If thats the case then I might not be able to finish the map (or just leave it with all the other game types.)Guess I’ll go back to 4 v 4 maps till I find a way around this. I hope this doesn’t ruin any btb maps in the future or big project.
