i had an idea that is totally plausable, but not the way it currently is.
There will be two teams: Red vs Blue.
they will be competeing to hold bases, no power weapons will be spawned besides shotguns, no turrets, only base shields and base upgrades. Minor ordinances will be allowed.
Heres the catch:
There would be two flood at the start, each kill about 50 points each (so the flood can have a victory).
they woulod try to convert red and blue teams to be flood.
This is totally plausable if this gains enough popularity.

If this gains enough popularity 343 might make this, and any other plausable gametypes a reality.
What would the flood member do once they enter the base? The turrets are too slow to lock on the flood, and if you slow the flood down, the defeats the point of flood.
If the Mechanics were fixed, where you start off in one base, which you can gradually upgrade after x amount of flood kills. Start off with shields, move on to turrets( with faster lock ons), then maybe mongoose, then maybe better shields, upgraded then to a warthog, finally a guass hog . while all the time the ammo resupply keeps you in nifty power weapons.
On the Flood side, start off with 2, then every thirty seconds add another flood from the red team. Maybe have the players who are waiting to get in, operate some flood turret which slows down or infects random blues who are running about avoiding the reds.
Edit* flood can still convert any spartan it kills. Depending on the map UNSC vehicle can be replaced with covenant. Alpha Flood, would have overshield , and be a bit speedier- ala leading the assualt as a tank, drawing fire while the other floods scurry around for sneakier indirect attacks.
I’ve had fond day dreams of the Calvinball gametype the devs worked up in Halo 3. Stuck all the gametypes together. Imagine if there were assault bombs, flags, territories, zombies, a juggernaught, VIPs, and racing markers all in one game? It’d be quite interesting.
Flood Dominion sounds like it’d be a good start, though. The Flood would probably win before the humans, in a lot of cases. How would scoring work? Would scoring be by individual rather than team?

Those are some interesting ideas. To clarify my point, in any map id forge for this there would be no turrrets.
No the flood cannot activate base terminals.
