Well we see Jul and his sangheili with more ships than I thought. Lets discuss now, 3 years? I wonder what they did.

Well I’m sure Jul whined about his dead wife for most of those three years.
So Jul’s ships just sat out there for 3 years, then Infinity comes along and Requiem opens right up? I guess this goes back to the whole thing about humans being Reclaimers and Forerunner tech only working for Humans.
My guess is that Jul found Requiem with the very very few ship available to the colony he landed on at the end of Thursday War. After finding it he would likely spend the next three years gathering support for his task force (which is probably made easier thanks to Requiem being discovered beforehand to serve as hard evidence for the religious fanatics Jul is duping), and of course trying to find a way in which seems to have been unsuccessful. Judging from the dialogue though support for the Storm faction may not be that significant beyond what is show in the latter half of the video as they’re still resorting to sending out raiding parties for supplies to sustain their operations around the structure.
I’m actually glad Jul is the Elite Villain of this game. It would have been a shame if the Elites were cannon fodder designed to simply bridge the gap. Giving them a face and purpose adds to the story. It will be interesting to see what happens when the Chief actually meets him as he has no idea what has happened in the last 5 years.
Although they probably haven’t been inside for obvious reasons, it would appear they at least landed on Requiem. This screen shot shows the Chief armed with a Forerunner Grenade which means they found at least some things on the surface of the outer shell and the Chief picked it up from a dead Elite.
I like how the terminals are called domain interesting.
hey all,
I’ve not yet read the Glasslands or Thursday War novels, so I’m likely behind the curve here (I’ll have 'em read by Launch, though, I promise).
But… how is the Domain involved in this preview? I’ve always wondered how it would expressed visually or in a video game.
Well now that my hype-ometer is broken…I thought it was interesting how Jul had no Sangheili word for either Requiem or Forerunner (this one is the most surprising due to the fervent devotion to them before the Human word was introduced…).
It definitely seems as if Jul was able to find more Sangheili since TTW though (probably on more “isolated planets”)

The Domain doesn’t seem to be involved directly, though the fact that the Terminals are called “Domain” is a heavy hint toward what they might be.

And this is just the first terminal who knows what the others will bring.
I have a feeling it is referred to as the domain because the vast majority of the terminals will be from forerunner sources.

I wonder if the terminals maybe from Offensive Bias perspective just that email got me thinking.
What the hell is up with the visual design for the Elites? They looked like they were drawn by caricature artists.

Aha, thanks for the clarifcation. I guess I’m used to the Terminals being something ancillary to the current story (e.g. Halo 3 terminals were alien looking and spoke of things as yet unknown; in Reach they were very cryptic datapads). This Halo 4 Terminal/Domain seems at first to be just another cut scene. BUT, I’ll withold judgment until the game gets released.
…lovin’ the idea of the Halo 3 terminals being a human’s insight into Forerunner Domain!
In Thursday War Jul got information on the location of Requiem correct?
That’s why he was already there before FUD arrived.
In those three years he was gathering supporters/army.
So is Jul Johns true nemesis?
I’m at 410 in TTW, I knew when Jul learned about the Didact and Requim that he would be the leader of the Storm. Beside his hatred of humans, he it truly identical logically to Thel (Arbiter)
Awesome, I like how they brought a character from the books into the game as one of the villians.
Question: Is this the first time we have seen Elites fully speaking Sangheili? Like outside from the random grunts and such from the games.
Similar question as above: Are the elites speaking Japanese or something? They kept using the English words for titles of things, like “Requiem”, so I couldn’t tell if this was done in another actual language or not. It seems like if this were the in-game Sangheili language they would have their own translation for Forerunner worlds. Especially since the Elites have shown particular disdain for humans naming things and probably wouldn’t accept a human given name for a Forerunner object of all things.
Edit: They also use the English word “Forerunner”. Elites would no doubt have a word for that. So this was either produced in another real world language or is just kind of sloppy writing.
Combat chatter in Reach but I think so.
Two potential nemesises. Jul and the Didact.
