I appreciate the focus on Multiplayer. What I can’t appreciate is the lackluster focus on the campaign area. The amount of possibilities with The Ring are monumental. For example, why not be able to bring your spartan from Multiplayer into “PVE” while on the Ring. Yes similar to Destiny.
Imagine, out on mission with your spartan, and a couple of fireteam members. Stumbling across Master chief on a small mission, you link up with him and go together to complete that mission. Sounds awesome to me.
Considering they had to delay the entire Co-Op feature because they couldn’t get it to work right in the game as is, I think expecting much by a way of expanding the feature before it is even released as asking for too much
They are planning to release story content throughout the 10-year lifespan of Halo Infinite.
The campaign as it is right now is just Part 1 of Master Chief’s story, with Parts 2 and 3 planned.
However, I predict that we will have mini-campaigns made up that will allow us to have other story perspectives, such as from the perspective of Spartan Laurette Agryna, in order to progress the story without having Master Chief’s narrative be too cluttered by side-content.
I’m hoping their intention is to expand it in that fashion, at least at some point. For me, the biggest way Infinites campaign falls flat is in its consistent attempts to drum up emotional story telling concerning Z-list characters. So much time spent getting audio logs to paint a picture about what happened after the Infinity was gutted, and the vast majority of it is about people we care nothing about because they’re characters we know nothing about.
343i biggest issue with handling lore since they took over is they constantly task the audience to be up to speed with the EU to make sense of the games, and Infinite continues that trend in spades.
